    nespresso?

My husband, whose preferred coffee drink is an Americano, LOVES our Nespresso. Seriously, he takes it on vacations with him. Single best Christmas gift I ever gave. I don't love espressos myself, but a decaf double lungo with a half tablespoon of condensed milk works for me. We have a Pixie; small footprint, looks great, easy to use. Just last night we watched the Suit Warehouse episode of The Office, which has the office drinking Nespresso drinks and declaring "We all drink them all!" -- our favorite episode ever! There are plenty of flavors to choose from. Nespresso ships FAST from online orders, and offers a recycling program for the pods. The espressos are quite small in volume, but you probably already have a handle on that. It's easy to program to whatever size you want if you prefer a larger, more dilute drink.
  4. Milk was the culprit here. We have had to go no dairy to eliminate it.
  5. In that circumstance, I would tell her I would only entertain written requests, calmly delivered.
  6. Something like this? I don't know if they have another name ... http://www.instructables.com/id/Juicy-Caviar-Snack-Easy-Delicious-Kitchen-Science/ Another recipe with some additional names : http://www.thelonebaker.com/journal/2011/1/6/strawberry-agar-agar-jelly-pearls.html
  7. Yes, we did it. Hundreds of tiny babies -- they were weirdly cute! Unfortunately after a few weeks we really couldn't find them anymore. I'm not sure why but I assume birds got them. We had seen a few adults before we hatched them, and every once in a while we see an adult now but we really didn't see the numbers increase. We tried one more time but the egg case never hatched. We had better luck releasing ladybugs when we had a bad aphid problem. They helped the problem considerably before they flew off. Apparently you need to have a good food source available or they just leave. Green lacewings might be another good option to consider, but I've never tried them personally.
  8. A few more (some are repeats of those above): Charlotte/Charlie Anabelle Dinah Esme Justine Miriam Phoebe Sadie Celia Sabine Josephine Sabrina Angeline
  9. Lila and Ivy were both on my name lists for girls! Other names I liked were: Elise Chloe Piper/Pippa Mia Thea/Téa Zoe Quinn Sophie Naomi Claire Laurel Kara Lark Isa Jillian Tessa/Tess Paige Nina
  10. Looks like there are lots of recipes out there. I've never made one, but it sounds good. I though this one looked worth trying : http://www.africanbites.com/milk-tart/
  11. I don't have a specific coffee recommendation for you (although searching Amazon for decaf whole bean swiss water process yields quite a few well rated options), but I just wanted to pass on that cold brewed coffee is significantly less acidic. Just yesterday I read that it is 67% less acidic that hot brewed. It doesn't mean you have to drink it cold -- just make a concentrate and add hot water to it if you want hot coffee. It is smoother and quite good, I think. Easier for me to drink without cream and sugar anyway. Also, FWIW, I have read that french press coffee (or any unfiltered coffee) can increase your LDL (bad) cholesterol due to the presence of cafestol. This is true whether it is decaffeinated or not. So, if cholesterol is an issue for you then you might want to consider using a paper coffee filter after brewing by french press.
  12. Have you considered looking for a young adult dog (purebred or mix) so you could fully assess temperament. For example, this guy would fulfill your criteria: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/37537234 ETA: of course you would be much better off finding one that did NOT need remedial housetraining! He is just an example of what is out there in the rescue world Here is another cutie, that looks a bit like a small golden retriever: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/37536975
  13. You might try adding in Mucinex (highest listed dose) and giving up dairy. They both helped me. If you suspect any other food sensitivities, this would be a good time to address them as well.
  14. I used to do agility (10 years ago), with 2 of my dogs, and I plan to again when my schedule allows. I am hoping to find a good agility dog next time we adopt. My class was one evening a week, and honestly I didn't practice much in between classes. We still made progress. Neither of my dogs had much drive, and I wasn't doing it to be super competitive -- we all just had fun. Competitions were on weekends, but were optional, and we didn't get into them for a while. Building or buying some equipment to have at home would be very helpful. Doesn't have to be fancy! It is important to know the basic rules from the get-go, so you don't have to retrain. I would strongly recommend classes until you know what you are doing. For example, knowing which side your dog needs to enter the weaves from is very important to get right from the beginning. Good luck and have fun!
  15. LIlacs, peonies, and burning leaves. The scent of a fresh snow.... also the sound of it, the hush and crunch.
  16. Ella Enchanted -- Ella finds a way to break the curse of obedience
  17. The two newest exotic spices I've tried are fennel pollen and grains of paradise. The fennel pollen is powerful and best added in tiny amounts at the end of cooking. It adds a fennel/licorice taste that is great with pork in particular, I think. The grains of paradise I use in place of black pepper when I think the recipe would benefit -- the flavor is sort of a combination between black pepper, cardamom and citrus.
  18. Since she likes giving food, could you ask for a fruit basket for next year?
  19. Try a different health share? There are quite a few -- They may vary enough to make it worth your while. I'm sorry for the stress : (
  20. It sounds like the filling of this pie ... you could easily make it into a parfait https://www.pillsbury.com/recipes/fluffy-peppermint-pie/6c0c1b81-5037-4431-a0a2-159f9313a6bc?p=1
