  1. I really and truly "Lol"-ed just then, quite loudly. It made my kids jump
  2. My little boy used to do this, but he is 6 and hasn't done it in a long, long time - I had almost forgotten! Is it weird that it kind of makes me sad?? He's growing up so much :(. I do think it's just a form of comfort, though, nothing weird :)
  3. Lots of sunshine (no, seriously, all the vitamin d I can get) Making a list of things I'm thankful for Reading or watching the funniest things I can get my hands on Running (best thing I ever took up, as far as general happiness) :grouphug: My official recommendation for anyone who is feeling like junk, is to order a pizza and watch one episode of "Wipeout" :D. That usually helps me!
  4. I would look up blogs about families that do this (rv-ing families), get some ideas, and then head out :). But then, I really DO think this is crazy. Crazy AWESOME :D
  5. :grouphug::grouphug: You do what you have to do to make it through with everyone still loving each other and liking each other.
  6. :iagree: I can see that they are doing much more difficult skills - and they are really cool! However, if they can't "stick" the difficult things, then they shouldn't be doing them at the Olympics.
  7. Oh I looove going to sleep. My room is dark and cool and so very quiet. Just the whirling of the ceiling fan. The sheets are soft, the duvet is snuggly, the mattress is smooshy and DH is cozy :D. Come to think of it, I think it's time for bed now!
  8. :iagree: I would also mention that *to me* you seem to be assuming that since you and your daughter have similar personalities and similar looks, that you react to things *exactly* the same way. It may be time to let her be her own person, separate from your expectations and assumptions. Hair is a good place to start that :).
  9. :grouphug::grouphug: I didn't realize this either. That sucks, Rosie. I'm so sorry.
  10. DH and I were both amazed at how much better the Magnificent Seven were than anything we've seen this summer. Their landings were SO clean, they were so graceful, so... ON it. I was just beyond impressed.
  11. :iagree: Interesting, though, to know that isn't the case. Man, I swear I learn about something new here every day!!
  12. My personal favorite was the part where it says that a man lives a work-filled, sad, meaningless life and the only thing that brings him joy is the warm "embrace" of his wife :D. I read that to DH and for some reason he keeps moping around saying "Woe is me! My life is so SAD AND MEANINGLESS! WHAT EVER could make me feel like life is worth living??":lol::lol:
  13. Alternately, I've come to realize that not all non-Christians are sad people walking around sadly :D. I guess since I was brought up in an area where practically everyone went to church, I assumed anyone that didn't would be walking around in dark cloak, hatching schemes - kind of like a Disney villain. This forum has shown me that non-Christians can be fun, wise, HAPPY, interesting, content and really cool. (And also, that I was much, MUCH more sheltered than I thought!)
  14. I guess I never really thought of Florida as being part of "The South", either. But that really is just a personal impression and not a fact. It's obviously southern in terms of geography and as part of the confederacy, but when I think of Florida I don't think sweet tea, civil war, and front porch swings. I think of Mickey Mouse, margaritas, alligators, and marshes. And oranges. All good things, though. I think Florida is great, just it's own little place. Like I said, it's not that it *isn't* part of The South, I just never really think of it that way. To be fair, I don't really think of Texas as The South, either. It's just.... Texas. It's a whole other country :D I think some states are so diverse that it's hard to put a label on them that fits every nook and cranny. Probably most states are like that, though, it's just easier to see the diversity in your own home :).
  15.:lol::lol: The blogger calls him a "douchecanoe" which may be the funniest word I have ever heard.
  16. This is what we did when we lived in an apartment. People were always genuinely perplexed that we had a problem with them parking in our very clearly numbered space, with a giant "You Will Be Towed" sign above it . People are strange sometimes :001_smile:.
