  1. Same here, but at least regular oatmeal is quick and easy to make. We like a hot breakfast here most mornings, but if the day is rushed have a few pick up and go standbys. Oatmeal Muffins Cinnamon rolls Granola Mix Sandwiches (PBJ etc.) Bagels & cheese Cheese & crackers or fresh bread Fresh Fruit Dry Cereal mix with raisins
  2. :grouphug:Congratulations...I hope the first day is a good one.
  3. Pasta Night 2 times a week. One is a quick stove top and the other an easy oven bake. Any dish baked in the oven has the noodles going in raw with extra sauce for quick prep. Served with garlic bread and salad. Favorites are regular spaghetti with a veggie tomato sauce, spinach lasagna, baked ziti and penne pasta topped with garlic, butter and fresh Parmesan cheese. Rice Night. Egg rolls, fried rice or a stir fry. Mexican Night. Burritos, tacos, baked or a Tex Mex baked dish usually served with a rice dish and fresh veggies. Pizza Night Black Beans or Red Beans and Rice Fresh baked bread and Soup Baked potato, pick your own toppings night. Veggie chili goes with this and satisfies my guys. Hearty Chili served with cornbread and corn. (We are in the Midwest, corn goes with everything here.) Big, big homemade pot-pie served with fresh bread. Breakfast....when all else fails.
  4. Yes...and a grading tools, tricks with a single student workshop would wonderful. My oldest student produces very large papers and evaluating them is time consuming and often leaves me looking to another unbiased source for feedback.
  5. ;) I hear you. Ours or mine revolved around the dinner menu...Not a biggie, but he was disappointed and began to understand. My confession was very forthcoming and explained with love about how we depend on one another to be honest even when it isn't easy.
  6. I've been thinking on this... Try to be mindful of the questions you ask and how you phrase them. Kinda of set her up for success. Example...."Why did you break your toy?..vs...I saw what happend, please tell me about it..If the answer isn't truthful, continue on with something like...That doesn't sound right...Please try again......" Also since she is predisposed not to think or worry about the integrity of honesty, try lying yourself to model how it feels. My ds learned a good lesson this way when he was around 7. I'll bet she trusts you...to be honest. kwim? Also set you consequences clearly and stick to them. She may need visual reminders lots of modeling and praise.
  7. Nope. I was a little harder on my first learning how to home school here. My poor dd was my guinea pig so to speak. imo&e...Little ones grow up very fast.:grouphug:
  8. Wow...I don't color, but that is expensive. You might try getting the color info from the stylist and find another less expensive place for the next time.
  9. We just clean it and if it doesn't stink...it's off my radar.:001_huh: For some little boys...sitting just leads to the misses landing on the other-side or the ceiling....Think pee fountain...
  10. :grouphug::iagree: Take here back in for the tests. Sending prayers your way. That poor kiddo.
  11. I think as a mom, you try to do what you can as long as you can. Kids are little for a short time and often catch on long before you'd wish it.
  12. I'm not flexible, but I am polite at the door like Laura. Caller id screens my calls and in all honestly people understand if you tell them.
  13. I love a great cut...hair grows back...so go for it. And give us a picture.
  14. Our jug is getting low here too. I may have to pay the Sam's club price again since my search for a less expensive local suppler isn't working. Isn't tree-tapping time right around the corner....I may have to check into our local Nature Center and participate in the festival here. (Aka, lots of work, but this year the cost might prove worth the effort.)
  15. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I'm sending a big box of virtual tissues and chocolate truffles your way.
