  1. Assign specific tasks... A you fill, B you carry or A you get drinks tonight.
  2. I would be honest with your friend if she asks you back for another scrapbooking day. Simply tell her your allergies wont withstand hours there, but if she thought the two of you cleaning wouldn't be offensive to the owner...go for it. Otherwise suggest a different location.
  3. Meet them vs. having them drop by your home if possible. Inspection, I'd tell them yes, if they wanted to prepay the inspector and make the appointment.
  4. My babies had sensitive skin, and disposable were better for their tender bottoms.
  5. I've lived without one for years by using a prepaid. I love the annual savings of $$$. (Disclaimer...dh, has a free super-phone courtesy of his office.)
  6. I have a pre-pay phone for myself; dh's office supplies him with a smart phone. My monthly cost is pretty low; I usually load 90 days for $20 = $-7 a month. I can load different amounts of minutes for specific periods of time, like 30days, 60, 90, 6 months or a year. My phone has text and each call or text has a minimum deduction. My minutes roll over, and I have tons of them.
  7. There never is an easy solution to the problem of rotten neighbors. You have my sympathy though.
  8. I almost always shampoo and condition daily. My hair is pretty normal, in my teens it was a little oily and I just began the daily shampoo routine then.
  9. I'm not sure, we are enjoying our Nook and Kindle and purchasing & library loaning fewer books. I'm not getting rid of my babies though.:glare: I have slowly begun to cull through some of our real books by trading them to Half-Price books...That usually means, I come home with more treasure though. I need TM's and real books for our homeschool... My big question???Will the prices skyrocket up or down?
  10. Nap time might be a good time to work with the older ones. :grouphug: Play-dough can keep little fingers occupied for a long time if they're beyond eating it. I always let my littlest paint, play with tape, play-dough and other special activities while the older one worked. And I'll admit to the occasional dvd as entertainment; Timmy The Tooth and Barny saved my sanity many days.
  11. :grouphug:I'm so sorry.:grouphug: A financial burden on top of the worry is just so wrong.
  12. It's 8', windchill -14 and we have 8 new inches of new snow on-top of the old 6'. We're expecting snow again tomorrow and Monday.
  13. I would help her never forget for a good long while by checking everything...Nothing motivates a pre-teen like a mom over their shoulder; they'll do just about anything to get you off their back. (I would offer the grace of her forgetting vs. lying in this case. Hormones are hard to deal with at any age, kwim?) Tomato staking works wonders, even with the older crowd who want to be grown up.;)
  14. :grouphug:I'm sorry, and have no idea why they didn't let you know; imo two weeks is a very long time and someone should have sent some kind of word.:grouphug:
  15. I think bullying is the expected and accepted culture in many schools. Don't solely rely on the teachers and administration to stop it. Imnsho, they condone it by only paying lip service to their zero tolerance policies. There seldom are any real consequences for the perpetrators.
  16. I wanted to post a few thoughts. Our city flooded a couple of years ago, and there were a few things I wished someone had recommended. First...One of the first things to go if the flood is major is clean water. Laundry...get it done. Save / store more than you think is necessary for at least a week. Shower, wash your hair and even the dog. Do all the dishes. (Have disposable on hand) Get hand sanitizers Check you home and basement for seepage even if you aren't directly in the path. Check your sump pump and power source Stock up on groceries, paper products and batteries (Most distressing for me...potty plans for toilets.) If you know someone with a well or have one, that's a blessing. They may need to be monitored, but at least you'll have water to use. Don't count on the local authorities to accurately predict or react to the rising water...
