  1. I love spinning but have not done any in way too long. :lurk5:
  2. My dd is 9 and we are trying for a sibling. She very much wants a sibling. There is a girl in our local coop who is a year or two older than dd and her mom just had a baby and she dotes on the baby.
  3. I think that I would probably seek medical attention in that situation and I did not go to the doctor for what was probably a broken foot/ankle (I thought it was just a bad sprain).
  4. I have asthma and unpredictable reactions to over the counter and prescription medications. I do not plan to ever try it unless I am experiencing a medical problem that it could help with. Philosophically I am all for legalization but if it is ever legalized in my area I plan to do everything in my power to avoid secondhand smoke for the aforementioned reasons.
  5. That is the thread with the honey baked lentils recipe so I don't have to look it up.
  6. :lurk5: I am always interested in chickpea recipes. I have seen recipes for roasted chickpeas but have not tried any of them.
  7. I don't have any experience with injured pocket pets but I do have a paralyzed dachshund. He was injured over five years ago and is still going strong. He does seem to be aging faster than his litter mate that my mother owns. He seems to be fairly happy and he was very athletic before his injury. We had alot of physical therapy done for him and he still needs help with urinating.
  8. My dd became much less hyper when we removed wheat from her diet. We have not had celiac testing done. Allergy testing was negative but I suspect an intolerance. I am very unwilling to feed her wheat just top find out that she cannot have gluten.
  9. She is only nine and showing no indications of hormonal changes. She has always been this way, if anything it has gotten a little better but not much.
  10. I have had allergies all my life and they changed dramatically during puberty. Now that I am getting close to menopausal age I think that some of them are changing again. :glare:
  11. My dd seems to love to gripe and complain, sometimes she even manages to work herself into tears.
  12. I think that a lot of the problem is the relatively high stakes testing that takes place and puts more pressure on kids than they are mature enough to cope with. That is a major reason that I like the mastery approach. If dd does not do well we just keep going over it until she does.
  13. If you don't mind a more formal liturgy, the episcopal church might appeal to you. There are quite a few female pastors.
  14. :grouphug: Also PTSD from the birth can cause depression if that is applicable in your case.
  15. :iagree: After the bat is contained in the room I would open the window and try to encourage the bat to leave.
  16. Your post makes me think of the book Eat Right 4 Your Type. It is about different diets being better for different blood types but it also has a section about certain blood types being more common in certain ancestral groups.
  17. We live in Mississippi so we never even considered the public schools(MS consistently has either the worst or the second or third worst every year when schools are rated). We initially planned to send dd to a private school but then I was laid off and I could not bring myself to trust strangers with my baby.
  18. :lurk5: Lurking due to my tall slender 9 year old. Jeans have to be very soft too or she will refuse to wear them.
