  1. I'm not bitter but I do want to be taken seriously. When I go to the doctor with a list of symptoms I don't want to get the brush off. Sometimes I think they just think I'm nuts. I don't necessarily want meds or something but I would like to know how to manage all these crazy symptoms and how long I can expect to have them.
  2. My symptoms started at 38 and every doctor I went to said I was way too young to be in perimenopause. Now I'm 40 and it's just getting worse. I sure hope I don't have another 10+ years of this crap.
  3. Hair loss Night sweats Hot flashes My period coming every 2 freaking weeks Harder to lose weight, also feel like my weight is distributed differently than it used to be Insomnia
  4. We got about 4 inches and everything was closed. I had to work today though, that was a bummer. I'm worried about everything freezing tonight.
  5. Yes, my kids all have at least one and have worn them to school on various occasions.
  6. 125 down 12 up. I think we pay for 100? I had Comcast come out and give me a new modem and now it's actually as fast as it's supposed to be. Before it was always slowing down. Our previous modem we'd had for about 6 years so I guess it was too old to go that fast.
  7. That looks super cool. I'm not sure it's technology that would be rolled out to every grocery store in the country though. At least not anytime soon. I'm one of those people who does not care to make small talk with cashiers so I wouldn't miss them at all. I do wonder if there are employees at this store to answer questions.
  8. I live in a city that has banned plastic bans. It's not a big deal at all. You either bring a reusable bag or you pay 5 cents for a paper one. The only plastic bags available are produce bags and small plastic bags for meat. If you aren't buying a lot of stuff they even have small paper bags for free. I'd love to adopt it as a statewide thing. Good for CA for voting it in, maybe we'll be next.
  9. I live in the birthplace of Costco and not too far from the birthplace of Amazon. I love them both for different reasons. I have 3 teenagers so shopping at Costco is like regular grocery shopping to me these days. I pine for the good old days when Costco was stocking up and I could get away with a once a month trip. Now it's a weekly thing. I love Amazon for Xmas shopping, and getting obscure things I can't find locally. I haven't tried them for groceries mostly because they are too expensive. I think it's unfair to compare them.
  10. I'm not overly concerned. I'll get some groceries tomorrow and some water just in case. I work in a grocery store and you'd think the apocalypse was coming with all the people we had today.
  11. I just have to ask. What do you think will happen if Roe v. Wade ever gets overturned? Abortion just magically disappears?
  12. I use Vital Proteins Collagen and I put it in my coffee mostly. I've also put it in juice or water too. My skin looks so much better since I started taking it in January.
  13. I work at a grocery store. The produce this year has just been bad all the way around. I think the weather issues in California are a big part of it. We get strawberries everyday that are just crap, nothing we can do about it. I've just stopped buying most of my produce at the store. I've been getting awesome local produce at the farmer's market for better prices than we have it for at the store.
  14. I just did a search. Absolute minimum is 1.1 million!
  15. I just went on a job interview this afternoon. I wore a knee length summer dress with a light cardigan over it (only because it has a cut out in the back that I didn't think was interview appropriate) and a pair of low heeled sandals. The interview I had about a month ago it was cooler out so I wore a pair of black slacks, a nice top, a cardigan and a pair of heels. Every interview, I have been dressed nicer than the person interviewing me.
  16. Yep. Working on my business degree so I can be a CPA someday. I'm actually interested in forensic accounting. For someone who's old I'm doing really well. I'm joining the honor society tonight.
  17. Full disclosure I work for a company with a union. I pay $9 a WEEK for me and the kids and that is for medical, dental and vision. The medical deductible is $1000/year and it's not per person. The company puts $600 in an HSA. Our dental coverage is the best I've ever had. $10 deductible per person and the annual max per person is $2500. The billing lady at my dentist office once commented that I had the best coverage she's ever seen. My husband works for a small company and pays $65/ every other week for medical, dental and vision. His medical deductible is $2500/year.
  18. Last year my DH got a small bonus at the company Xmas party. This year they have pushed the party to January b/c they are too busy right now to take a day off for a party. So I'm not sure if he will get a bonus this month or not till January.
  19. No. Our iPhones are in Otterbox Commuter cases. I think my dh has his in a Defender. We also have 3 iPads and none of those are ever in cases and no cracked screens on those either. I personally think they are very sturdy.
  20. I've seen this in my CC classes as well. The classes started out sounding challenging and by the 3rd week of the quarter got easier and easier. Students were still complaining about how hard everything was. I thought the classes were exceptionally easy and have an A in every class. I can't figure out how I manage to hold a job, run a household, take care of 4 kids and still study and get my stuff done when these 18-25 year olds with almost no responsibility can't manage.
  21. For those of us in WA state, running start is the best deal around. If your kid can complete the entire associates while in high school even better. My daughter will graduate high school this year with 40 CC credits and we only paid around $500 for everything including books.
  22. I don't know anything about Bremerton but I wouldn't commute on the ferry. I think Edmonds is super cute and considered living there when my husband was considering a job in Lynwood. If your Dh missed the train he could take the bus. Wouldn't be as fast but would still get him home.
  23. Hmm maybe our case was different some how. But we were hit by an uninsured driver and I hired a lawyer right away. We carried uninsured motorist on our policy. In the end we sued our insurance company, the woman who hit us, then she was driving someone else's car so we also sued him and his insurance. I think our insurance paid the bulk of it and way over what our limit was. But it took 3 years to settle it. We didn't pay one penny towards any of my daughters medical bills and she ended up with a nice settlement.
