  1. We also received that call, once about 4 months ago and then again last month.
  2. I'm still waiting to see if any of my new ones are going to crow! Most of them were sexed so hopefully most are pullets but we have a little barnyard bantam mix that one of my broody girls hatched and I'm crossing my fingers that one doesn't crow. It was the only one of the clutch that made it so the kids will be disappointed if it crows!
  3. When we were looking at houses to rent before our cross-country move, I remember seeing one that had a soundproof music room. Now, six years and three more kids later, I often think fondly about that soundproof room. Either for them OR for me. :D
  4. I moved from NC to SC to GA and finally to WA, still have chronic daily migraines.
  5. I've been buying mine in 1 lb bags from Culinary Teas for several years now. I know they have some organic blends, but lately I've been enjoying their Peach Apricot flavored tea (I drink it iced) and it's not organic.
  6. With my loss at the beginning of the year, the m/c was induced by Cytotec/misoprostol and I also had Vicodin for any cramping. Overall, it was over quicker than my completely spontaneous loss last year (with that one it was about 4 days between the main m/c and the passage of the placenta, I didn't want to go through that again). My condolences to your friend on her loss.
  7. Just today I switched my Otterbox Defender out for a Lifeproof case. The Otterbox definitely earned its keep, protecting my phone from several nasty falls, but it was starting to loosen up and I wanted something waterproof. The Lifeproof case is a bit slimmer than the Otterbox. DH has one and I've seen it protect his phone from several nasty falls.
  8. I usually see midwives, but during my 1st pregnancy it was a practice that had an OB also. He was good-looking and it didn't phase me at the time. Now when I see a doc and I think he's good-looking, half the time I end up feeling like Mrs. Robinson. :tongue_smilie:
  9. My 2 year old DS2 does this constantly! He's the only one of mine that has done it, but he's also the only one that weaned this young. A few times if I wasn't around he would also try to do it to 6 year old DD1. We call him Grope-a-licious.
  10. OK, I feel a little better that I fall somewhere in the middle with my 8 cats! :tongue_smilie:
  11. We only did it for a month and I'm so glad we went! Our kids were a bit younger (just under 1, 3 and 5 at the time, so we called it "The Great Potty Tour" for all the bathroom stops) but my oldest still talks about it and asks if we could do it again. If you can easily get your stuff into storage and have no pets to worry about then I would go for it!
  12. I also have complicated migraines (mine are basilar artery migraines) and the PP is right, they can come with some really odd symptoms! I rarely get them but the symptoms of mine mimic a stroke.
  13. I've had my bottle in the fridge for several months now. I just started taking it again a few days ago.
  14. When I went to the neighbors house on the street behind us (we share a back fence) looking for our indoor cat that had gotten out they had a rented dumpster in front of their house. Ohhhhhh, was I jealous! I would love to have one here, even if only for a couple days. Now THAT would get me motivated to get my butt out of bed in the morning, just for the sheer joy of tossing stuff! If Goodwill wanted to leave a trailer for a day then that would be fabulous also. I think if the decluttering/organizing fairy would come and visit then I wouldn't need to fantasize about the cleaning and laundry fairies so much. (Maybe. Don't burst my bubble here!)
  15. I use my hot water bath canner for jams and salsa, my pressure canner for stocks.
  16. I was a nuclear engineer. The lab I worked for designed reactors and the first several years I worked their I first learned to operate the reactors and trained personnel on theory and operations. Kind of like nuclear Driver's Ed. ;)
  17. This is a big struggle for me too. I get so much more done around the house when I save internet time for after dinner (email/FB checking during breakfast and lunch is fine), it's just an issue of willpower on my part.
  18. I'm in! My standards have slipped a bit (to put it mildly! :glare: ) during the first trimester, I need to get things back in shape.
  19. We didn't add our CC to YNAB. We enter the payment as a bill, but we don't use YNAB to track the CC balance.
  20. There's definitely a learning curve but I'm glad I started using it! Trimming the stem (in fact, pretty much trimming it all the way down) made it much more comfortable for me.
  21. My last three were born at home and I'm planning another homebirth for this little one due in January. I have precipitous labors, so I told DH that the homebirth wasn't really an option, it was if he wanted someone else there attending or just him!
  22. It doesn't have anything to do with those scenarios, but we do keep an emergency kit in the back of the van. It used to be in a Sterilite box, now it's in one of those vacuum space bags under the back seat. It has at least 72 hours (more, including snacks) worth of food for the 6 of us, emergency shelter and blankets, fire starter, emergency water filter. We also keep bottles of water in the back (though I think we've gone through these from routine use), first aid supplies and everyone has a spare set of clothes in a small ziploc bag (or bags for the bigger ones) under their seat. We go on a lot of day trips and go up to the mountains frequently, one of my fears was always getting stuck somewhere for a few days. The van submerged underwater has always been a fear of mine too. I have one of the emergency glass breakers, but I've never tested it on anything and it's in the junk drawer in the kitchen, where it does absolutely no good. Only DS1 would be able to unbuckle himself.
  23. I had a chemical pregnancy in early April, sounds similar to what you had. A few light positives on tests, but then a day or two later my cycle started. (This was two months after another miscarriage.) I got pregnant the next cycle.
  24. We have a basic 10 cup one for our family of 6. We typically cook 3-4 cups at a time, though I use it more for cooking oatmeal or grits in the morning.
