  2. PS... my mom has a Magic Mill which has lasted almost 30 years, too!! I know that there are similar mills... and I think it's worth a separate appliances... She has a Bosch, too! (And... she makes all of our Whole Wheat bread.... lucky us!!) Carrie:-)
  3. Champion is nice... you can do it with the juice going out one end... the pulp going down the other way.... (down) Also, you can do frozen fruit which makes it like "sorbet" which is wonderful. Frozen peaches and frozen bananas ....strawberries.... YUM!! We've had our for probably 30 years:-) Carrie

  8. I know this may sound crazy, but would your husband go to some other church with you? For instance... Lutheran? or something?? I would bend on the church (and yes, I understand that going from Catholic to Lutheran or other is a big deal!) Anyway..... if my husband would go with me. What church would your husband be comfortable with?? And yes, I would insist that my children go... kindly... and with Scriptural backing... until they are 18 or so... or maybe while they are living at home... Carrie:-)
  9. Well.... when you first announced the "Christmas Gift" that I hope you receive:-) I was thinking "Evangeline" which I would shorten to "Ayva" spelled... Eva :-) Of course, I have to say that I think of "Sarah" as a first name:-) Sarah Evangeline:-) Sarah Noelle:-) Sarah was my grandmother's (paternal) name.....I never knew her but it was "Sarah Oma Ellen) and she went by Oma:-) Carrie:-)

  11. This is a nice tradition. Growing up, we opened presents on New Year's Day from the afternoon until midnight.. Of course... the biggest one was at midnight.... Carrie:-)
  12. 1st..... what's amazon? Do they offer their employees great benefits? Shares....etc.?? They've run our local bookstores out.... 2nd..... Do you love IKEA? Gosh... the first IKEA I ever shopped at was in NJ:-) Loved it.... :-) Carrie:-)
  13. Oops... I already purchased the books I mentioned.... so... I can keep those for my 1st grader... and then start on the Aesop B. I wanted to not make this "too" hard of a program.. It's for my 6th grader, but it will be after the writing course that we do during the year. I would rather be the course be easier than harder.... I want to have them move through the program during our "off school year time" as we do another writing program during the school year... so about 15-20 weeks a year. :-) Carrie:-)

  15. Hi There, I have Classical Writing Aesop and Classical Writing Aesop Instructor's Guide. To use for an advanced student, would you need a different Instructor's Guide? Or just an advanced Student's Guide? Thanks!

  20. You could also do a general list of what's available to use for homeschooling that is very general and not "homeschool specific". For example.... Bake for fractions... Nature Magazine for Science... Monopoly for Free Enterprise... Maybe a cute poem... That's what my mom does... :-) Carrie
