DS is 29, so yeah, no fun kid gifts. He got cash for his birthday. I do still get him an ornament every year-I thought I would be stopping that, but he let me know he wanted to keep it up. And the stocking stays, but I need to put things in it besides candy, since he is battling his weight. We will be keeping our tradition of Turkish Delight, which we started getting after he read Chronicles of Narnia. Yes, you are right. It's sad, but being together is the most important thing.

We don't buy much. I ordered DS some house slippers, and I will fill his stocking. Dh and I share a stocking, but I will buy him a gift. Parents and sister won't be exchanging gifts. It got to the point with my parents that we were trading money back and forth, so we decided to end it. I get them a Mother's Day/Father's Day gift. My sister and I exchange birthday gifts and sometimes Christmas. I'm not sure what else to get DS, and the only thing I can come up with for dh is a picture of our favorite beach. Was intending to do that for anniversary, but I was down with my foot surgery at that time.

I had it done to me. I really can't recall the exact things they did, but my dad provided the key. I thought it would be safe with him, but he had too much to drink, I guess. Something else that was done: Someone "kidnapped" the bride, and a ransom was raised for her return. Of course, the money was given to the couple for their honeymoon. I am from a small town, and I have even seen the police involved in these adventures, just for fun of course. At my wedding, my suitcase was kidnapped, and money was raised to get it back.

This week's goal will be to complete 2 walls. Shouldn't be too difficult, because I am already more than halfway there, although touch up can take forever!!

If I get one wall completely finished of the room I am painting, I will be satisfied. I need to get a smaller brush. I'm just not real happy with how it's looking. For some reason, it doesn't look sharp and finished. Update: I got one wall completed!!

I slept/stayed in bed until nearly 9 this morning-the only day of this break I have done that. Plans for today: go to the school for awhile -done make flashcards paint laundry shower and moisturize prayer and Bible reading take pictures of fall decor before I put it away write the church check for tomorrow

It really wasn't busy. We went to Barnes and Nobel, and I went to Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, Ross, and Home Goods. Only bought something from Hobby Lobby and the bookstore, and no longer line than usual.

Creamy Cranberry Coffeecake-good but kind of dense Apple Praline Cake-ok but nothing spectacular; Pumpkin Pie-pie good, but crust messed up Carrot Cake-I guess it was fine Sugar Free dessert-no problem as far as I know White Chocolate Maple Cookies-amagingly good

@Ausmumof3 sorry about your kitchen and having to piece it back together. @Rosie_0801 Glad you got the fly. I've been swatting them like crazy. Dh put up a strip to catch them yesterday. My minor annoyance is painting around all the stuff in the bedroom I am re-doing. I did move the stuff off the shelves I use for a pantry and dh took out an ugly shelving unit and put it in his shop. But, the bed and all the other stuff, I am just working around.

My parents still live in my childhood home, but dh and I are in our 6th place.

I am done as far as what I will take to my sister's house. I made creamy Cranberry coffeecake, apple cake/praline frosting , carrot cake/cream cheese frosting, pumpkin pie, white Chip Maple cookie/some frosted. I still need to make dinner-a potato and sausage dish and a vegetable to go with it. I was thinking of having leftover potato salad, but I just realized I can't serve potatoes two ways. I have some eggs boiled, I could turn them into deviled eggs. We probably will have some of those tomorrow, but there will be plenty of other food as well. I have about one fourth of my painting done, so I will be working on that on and off. Still need to fold a load of laundry.

A pumpkin roll with cream cheese filling would be fiddly, beautiful, and delicious!!

I have bought 5 bags at 14 dollars each in the last 6 months, so roughly $140 per year. We don't buy it out, unless we're out for breakfast or on vacation. Dh and I both keep k cups at work, so that adds some.
