Bess
I really do not like the smell of Febreze at all. I can't understand why they couldn't get it to smell better considering the whole point is to spray it on things that smell bad. Or is it just me? Am I the only one? It's not that I'm against unnatural scents... I like Tide smell for instance. And Downy...and a host of other chemical type smelly things. But not Febreze. No thank you. mommaduck
You are NOT the only one. Febreze smells nasty and it over strong. NeutrAir is another one. We had a family in one of our former churches that would spray that stuff EVERYTIME they went in the restroom. Could not breathe in there. I would hide it and find it out again. I finally got hold of the current janitor and that spray can disappeared and any that reappeared after it. And I don't have asthma...so I could only imagine anyone with respiratory problems having to deal with it.
Cheryl in NM
I can't either. It gives me a headache. I used watered down downy on my carpets in the winter to cut static electricity.:D
Mommy22alyns
I'm with you, actually. It's a pity it doesn't smell better.
Tree House Academy
I like the Spring Breeze scent (or something like that), but I think the "Extra Strength" variety smells like old man cologne. YUCK!

TraceyS/FL
I can't stand it. Same for any of the "air neutralizers". DD had to have sprayed one in the bathroom last night (its in there for MIL right now :bad:) because when she came to give me a hug - her hair smelled like it. YUCK. Whatever scent we have lingers badly......
beansprouts
I do not like artificial fragrances at all. I only use them when I need to cover up a REALLY REALLY BAD smell.
Pretty in Pink
I think it smells much too strongly! It give me a headache.

My dh can't stand the smell of regular Febreze, but he doesn't mind the lavender one. Maybe you could try that?
Mrs Darcy
About the only artificial smells I can tolerate are Tide and Downy. Everything else give me a headache and if it is really strong, quite nauseous. I cannot go in my MIL house if she has put perfume on that day. So in answer to your question, no you are not the only one who cannot stand the smell of Febreze.
Doran
Sometimes I think I'd rather smell dirty socks and armpits than the fake scented goo that infiltrates our lives. Bleh. Read here.
Cornerstone Classical
My nose starts dripping, eyes running and my throat closes up. My employee brought it to spray on the furniture in our office and I.....:ack2:
Linda (Australia)
I get a shocking headache whenever I use this stuff. It's now only used in our home when absolutely necessary. I'm sure it's loaded with chemicals.
Robin M
It is nasty and has too much perfume for me. I hate the stuff and refuse to use it. All it does is contribute to the smell and odor, not eliminate it.
AuntieM
but I especially detest it when I discover that dh used it liberally while I was out. Or, worse yet, if he sprayed it in my car. It's too strong for my nose, but more than that, all I can think of is, "Just what other odor was he trying to cover up?" I prefer a neutral, clean smell. So I am one that doesn't care for much of any of that scented stuff (candles, air fresheners), not just Febreeze.
Mommy22alyns
more than that, all I can think of is, "Just what other odor was he trying to cover up?" I run into that problem a lot too. :ack2: I actually can't stand a cinnamon air freshener scent anymore because it was the designated "bathroom" spray and it didn't cover everything up as well as it should. :ack2:
Desert Rat
Bothers allergies in our house so we don't use it.

dirty ethel rackham
I can't stand the air neutralizers either. The only one I can tolerate is this natural citrus one that I can get from Trader Joe's. At least I know it is not loaded with icky chemicals.
