My dh is 15 years older then I am. 31 and 46. We live each day to it's fullest and every every moment we have together. For all we know, we both might die within the next year, or we could have another 50 years together. If dh was to die, I live just outside the largest retirement community in the USA, lots of choices there for older men. I think the ratio is something the 10 ladies to every one man. Great review, thank you. I'm not so worried about the depth of the history, I would just like to get him exposed to the time period and the key people of that time. We have time later to go further in depth if he wishes to.

Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre are two of my favorite books. I grew up not to far from Haworth, where the Brontes lived. Living life on the moors is a hard life, more so back then. I think their books reflect so well the feeling and attitudes of the people who grew up on the isolated moor. When ever I read Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre I can imagine myself back home and it's like visiting an old friend. Or may be I'm just weird and like dark depressing books that feed on your emotions.

As anyone read this book or and of the books in this series? Mary, Bloody Mary It would be for my son, but he does like books with girls in them. Some of his favorites have been, Pollyanna, Anne of Green Gables, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Here is a good book, that's out of print Teutonic Myth and Legend This is Donald Mackenzie's able retelling of the Northern mythological cycle. He weaves a coherent narrative from the Eddas, the Niebelunglied, the Volsung Saga, Beowulf, the primordial Hamlet myths, and Medieval German tales of chivalry. Also The Story of Siegfried This is a good Irish legend The Boys' Cuculain It is not as well know as many other popular European myths.

What are your favorite books that cover the American Civil War? Historical fiction, non-fiction, biographies. My son is reading Taken by the Enemy, which is the first book in the Blue and Gray series by Oliver Optic. He would like to read some more about the American Civil War.

Has anyone used or is using Latin Book One by Scott and Horn? I am a member of the Yahoo group. Is it a good curriculum to use for first time Latin users? Any pros or cons about it?

My "Good Thing" is my toaster which poaches. Toaster Poacher It is so easy to put in an egg, piece of sausage and an English Muffin at breakfast time. My ds even uses it to make his lunch some times. You can toast and poach at the same time, or just poach, or just boil eggs or even just use it to cook toast.
