Spy Car
Curious? That, and trying to keep a little balance on the boards :D Bill (WTM partisan :tongue_smilie:)
Brindee
What is TWTM? Sorry, I'm outta the loop I guess. :)
Doodle
I hope I don't sound stupid, but do you mean when referring to the book titled The Well Trained Mind? If so, my preference is for WTM since I am a library nerd and "A", "And" and "The" are disregarded when alphabetizing titles.
Brindee
Ohhhh, if that's what you mean, then I feel the same way as Doodle. I wouldn't put the first T.
Spy Car
Referring to the book or this board. Bill (who can't believe he needs to explain this :D)
Jean in Newcastle
I'm lazy. There is less to type with WTM! :auto:
Stacy in NJ
I voted "other". Why can't it be both?
Brindee
Referring to the book or this board. Bill (who can't believe he needs to explain this :D) I know about the book and this board. Just wasn't sure if there was some other thing I missed with the TWTM, since I've never used that. I've only seen WTM.
Suzanne in ABQ
I voted "other", because I find myself spelling out "the" (lower case), then using the acronym WTM. So, the board is "the WTM Board". The people are "the WTM people" or "the WTMers" or "the folks on the WTM board." The book, on the other hand, is TWTM. profmom
I use TWTM because I think that's what everyone used when I first started coming here -- let's see...7 years ago? Now I'm curious if it's an older member vs. newer thing.
LaxMom
I hope I don't sound stupid, but do you mean when referring to the book titled The Well Trained Mind? If so, my preference is for WTM since I am a library nerd and "A", "And" and "The" are disregarded when alphabetizing titles. Yeah. That. I voted "other", because I find myself spelling out "the" (lower case), then using the acronym WTM. So, the board is "the WTM Board". The people are "the WTM people" or "the WTMers" or "the folks on the WTM board." Yes, but grammatically, you're using WTM as an adjective to describe which board or people, so the "the" is entirely appropriate. 1bassoon
Is this where we sing? (Where's anj when I need her???) You say TWTM. . . . I say WTM. . . . . Let's call the whole thing off!!! ;)

Parrothead
It doesn't sound/look right without the "The." And if I'm going to type out The WTM that just seems wrong. So I'm in the TWTM camp.
profmom
Does it settle it that SWB uses TWTM in this post? :D (Of course, I don't mind either way, but it's fun to see that I happen to have the same habit as SWB on this!)

No, it doesn't settle it. Janna
"TWTM". Mainly because I feel like the word "The" is important in this title. It's not just "a" well-trained mind...it's THE well-trained mind. Taking out the adjective "The" in this case, seems to be more noticeable than with other titles. I don't know why, it just does. So there. :D
