  1. I just discovered I cannot eat highly processed wheat either. About a month ago maybe slightly longer, I had a no so good blood test. My doc said I was heading into becoming pre-diabetic and that I had very high inflammation. I went home a through out all of my white bread and pasta. It hurt since it was all organic. I went back to eating only one slice of sprouted wheat bread a day, added avocado to my daily diet, and nuts for snacks. I dropped 5 lbs in two days and another 5 lbs by the end of the week. The redness on my face has almost gone away. So, I am wondering if I may have a problem with gluten. On the other side, my teenage daughter is gaining weight eating carbs, fruits and veggies with very little protein. Today, she said that she is going to switch her diet.
  2. :iagree: I have found dentists who practice integrative dentistry to be great for people with dental phobia.
  3. I know how you feel. :grouphug: Mine lost his in February, It is off putting to say the least.
  4. May spring find you soon. I hope you have had a good day otherwise.
  5. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear EL, Happy Birthday to you.
  6. I have a 13 year old fashion diva. She loves Kate Spade, but we are on a budget. She does like Forever 21, but they do not have a good return policy. Once they take your money you will never see it again even if you do have the tags on and your receipt. She also loves Kohls, but you need to be careful especially if you do have a fashion diva. They have too many pieces where you wonder where is the rest of it. Target is another one of her faves along with H&M.
  7. Yes, I do have iTunes on my computer. I do need to be able to place it on a CD for their show though.
  8. Also, since I own a copy of the song, can't I play it on every machine I have? It's only illegal if I am trading music with her. It maybe illegal if she keeps a copy of it, but that's not what we are planning to do. She is only going to edit it and send it back to me.
  9. Really? :confused1: I own it and am only having a friend edit it for me. She is not going to keep a copy of the piece. Ice skaters have to edit the pieces to allot for the time given. I would imagine gymnists would have to do the same. I don't have the knowledge to do it myself nor can I afford the editting software at this time.
  10. I need help with my daughters' iPods. I need to copy an iTunes song off of their iPods to an email in a mp3 file. My daughters ice skate and will be preforming in a show case for the first time. A friend is cutting down their music to 1 minute and 30 seconds for me if I can email it to her. Thank you
  11. Sounds like a great homeschool day. Writing and poetry can be done tomorrow. I am happy for you and your dear children.
  12. I don't see anything else other then she wants you to choose which is the "best way" to show the data.
  13. I agree with meggie, I love OPGTR. As for math, I would not invest in an homeschool expensive curriculum. You can teach your child how to count from 0 to 100. A workbook from Target or Walmart is all you need for the rest of math. Many trips to the library and other educational fun trips to round out your year.
  14. This happened to me during my first. My doctor put me on bed rest every time it occured.
  15. I disagree. This would be contradict what my midwife, GYN doctor and my family doctor told me. It would also contradict my sister who is a professor of gennectic biology says to be true. Your skin is the first defence in fighting disease.
  16. Your baby exposes you to whatever he/she has been exposed to while you are breast feeding. It works both ways.
  17. Hi Jane! Sorry to hear about your woes. I have to respectfully disagree with putting the toddler in a program outside your home unless it was with a grandparent for a few hours. The younger the child is the more important it is to have the child be bonding with his mama. I know you, Jane. You plan wonderfully for your children's education and have very high standards. I am wondering if maybe it is time to reassess your curriculum choices and what you want to accomplish this year. You might be able to adjust your curriculum to have it be less teacher intensive. Because of what is going on with my family, my oldest is now attending a local Catholic High School. It was not my choice. It was hers. She has transitioned beautifully and with great grace. She is glowing at school and acheiving greatly. Honestly, I didn't think she was going to do so well. Not because she wasn't smart, but because I as her teacher didn't get to this curriculum or that curriculum. I was very sick for a few months one year. The following year, my husband hurt himself very badly. I was taking him to medical appointments for months taking many hours out of my homeschool day. I felt defeated. Last week, I was told during parent/teacher conferences that my daughter is an assest to the school. I must be a great teacher since she is doing so well. I am sharing this with you, because I have learned that we are hard on ourselves as homeschool moms. Sometimes, you need to devote your time in a different area then you would like, but it is not the end of the world. Your children will shine for it.
  18. Hmm... Is this site exchanging information with FB? We don't don't allow FB in our home for many reasons. I am not a member of FB. Is this site sharing my information with FB?
  19. It was the first thing that I noticed. True but, the board is much slower now. I remember hearing that SL boards were bad.
  20. I just tried to edit a post. I received an error message after I completed my editting that my post was empty. Then my whole post disappeared. :001_huh:
  21. Wow. This is new. This  does not belong in this post. It was just too cute not to use.
  22. I know I only have girls, but boys like "The 39 Clues" books too.
