Vent: Student vs. Academic Planners

Wanted: Weekly and Monthly pages, student planner where you list classes down the side and days across for the week. Prefer smaller format to 8x10. Would like free shipping or store pickup. Stuck paying almost as much shipping as the calendar costs (or buying tons of overpriced cereal at Target), or I can give up the monthly pages and get free shipping. It's for a boy, and most styles are girly.

Not Wanted: Weekly and Monthly calendar that covers the academic year. That is what I can have shipped for free or pick up.

What happened to calendars in the last 3 years? I used to be able to find these easily in stores or with store pickup?!?

I think kids switch to using the Canvas calendar and their cellphone calendar.

At that age I was using Filofax and buying the refills that I do use. I find it easier to use than the planner I get for free from my cousin who works as an insurance agent.

Would this work? https://www.staples.com/house-of-doolittle-undated-teacher-planner-8-1-2-x-11/product_HOD50907

I think the grid style like you are looking for is less popular than it used to be.  I used to sometimes find them in store at Target and the last couple years I have had to order them for my kids that prefer that style. I never have a problem finding enough stuff to order from Target to get free shipping, so I have gotten this brand before: https://www.target.com/p/2022-23-academic-planner-feature-rich-weekly-monthly-5-5-34-x8-5-34-coral-five-star/-/A-84146992

Maybe some stores would have some colors of that style in stock?

These ones are prime eligible on Amazon (lots of cover designs, this is just one): https://www.amazon.com/Global-Datebooks-Student-Academic-2022-2023/dp/B09S2VJ8FF/

I used these too--worked them to include everything we wanted to include. I found them very useful and affordable. However, they are 8.5x11.

We've used both of these linked ones with success.  Search on Amazon for "matrix planner" and there's a couple more options.

Amazon also offers the Order Out of Chaos planner.  The boxes were too small for our tastes, however.

And this one is undated but 8x11ish. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q4Z946G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And if you wanted to print your own, there's a template here:  https://www.vertex42.com/calendars/student-planner.html

This is the one I got for my son this year. It was the most boyish of the ones I like (last year I got solid black). It says Teacher Planner on it and the week days are on the side instead of along the top, but otherwise it sounds like what you are looking for. The price is definitely right, if you have Prime it is only $6.
