Inspiring cooking quotes or sayings?

I finally got my recipe notebook organized (actually bought another because the old one was calling apart) with labeled dividers and put my recipes in the right categories. That was a job. There were so many recipes to sort. Now I'd like to pepper my recipe book with some inspiring sayings. Do you have a favorite? Cooking is a chore to me, but my kids really appreciate it when I put a bit of heart into it. I swear I think my kids love language is FOOD.

I found a quote today. It's funny, not exactly heart warming.

“The trouble with eating Italian food is that five or six days later, you’re hungry again.†- American stand up George Miller

“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world."--J.R.R. Tolkien

"Oooh, that's scrummy!"  Mary Berry  and of course, you need something about soggy bottoms in your pie section. :)

Cooking feeds the body, but Mama's cooking feeds the soul.

Aw! Thank you!

I've been wanting to make a recipe notebook for *years*.

I like the quote idea!

When I finally do it I'm planning to include family photos that somehow relate to food.

Oh, I like your idea of adding some pics. I have a good one from Thanksgiving I could slip into the cover, at least. Thanks!

"If you're afraid of butter, use cream."

-Julia Child

"Butter (or cream) makes everything better." :D

There's a prayer: thank God for dirty dishes, they have a tale to tell. While others may go hungry, were doing very well..."

There's more but I can't remember.

My uncle gave me a little sign for my kitchen. "Countless numbers of people have eaten in this kitchen and gone on to lead perfectly normal lives."

Bless his heart.

  That is too much.
