Dinner and Concert Alone?

My favorite artist will be in town in a couple of months. There is a concert preceded by a buffet style dinner. DH doesn't want to attend, but I don't mind attending the concert alone. Would it be odd to attend the buffet dinner alone? DH seemed somewhat surprised that I would want to attend the dinner solo.

My daughter would beat me up if I went to such an event without her, but I care not for oddness. If you can't find someone to take along, go and enjoy. It won't be better fun sitting home. Last time we went to the ballet, we took our hairdresser because attending a ballet was on her bucket list. So, talk to everyone and you might find someone who wants to go too. :)

If you enjoy eating alone, I don't see an issue (I personally hate eating alone and would just go to the concert, unless I could find a friend to come with me).

But there is nothing weird about a person attending such an event on her own.

I think it would be fine to go alone.   You may meet other singles there and have someone to talk to, or you can take reading material if you'd rather not.

If you want to go, go. Who cares if it is weird, you will likely meet other people who gave similar interests.

Go and have a good time. You'd be surprised how many people do things by themselves. Why not.

It sounds like the dinner is in conjunction with the concert...it would be fun to talk with other fans!

I'd rather go than not, so yeah, I'd go alone if I had to. But I'd probably buy two tickets and treat a friend...or hope dh would go. We just do that- sometimes he wants to do something and I tag along because it's fun to be with him even if it's not my favorite thing. And he does the same for me. 

 

But don't miss seeing your favorite musician! (Unless maybe you've seen the artist a bunch of times before. We recently saw Hanson and there were people there who have seen them far more than 100 times!)

I do things alone all the time. Life is too short to go around digging up people to do things with you.
