J-rap
Ha, that's my parents! They're 88/87, and have requested no more "things" for Christmas. I thought a magazine subscription might be nice. They're both very bright, big readers (both classics and mysteries), enjoy history, travel, and current events (though nothing too heavy or depressing!). Any ideas for them? Vida Winter
There is a magazine called "Reminisce" that features remembrances of the 30s, 40s, etc. - I always read it at the doctor's office. Bet they would get a kick out of it. Here's a link: Reminisce Magazine

I also remember a similar one I used to love as a kid (I even strangely asked for a subscription to it for my birthday when I was about 10!). It was called Good Old Days. I don't see that one around anymore!
Chris in VA
Biblical Archeological Review magazine is pretty interesting, if they would like that sort of stuff. They are always writing about latest finds and places of interest, and have a fun feature that shows an object and asks you to identify it (it's just a little fun thing in the magazine). It's not as academic hoity-toity as it sounds.
Stacia
Since they like mysteries, they might like Ellery Queen magazine.
TechWife
The Atlantic is a good magazine. The print can be small at times, though.

ScoutTN
My mom loves Smithsonian. She gives her used ones to a friend, so two people read and enjoy them before they get donated to an assisted living center nearby.
