KatieJ
I am checking out wardrobe options for DH. Found a pair of navy dockers in the back of the closet. They are like new, but they have cuffs. Are they still in style? or should I take them off. I am a seamstress and no big deal. He has one pair of khaki colored pants that he wears with a sport coat when he wants to be more dressed up. I am unsure about the navy pants .
Spryte
I'd say lose the cuffs if it's an easy thing to do. Not sure of where you are, but DH here spends a lot of time in Europe and cuffs are out. Could be different in your area.
Katy
I think cuffs on khakis are rather timeless but also unflattering. If it's simple for you to take them off, I would.
Spryte
Oh, are the pants flat front or pleated? Definitely no cuffs on flat front. YMMV.
KatieJ
Pleated. I think I will alter them and take th cuffs off. Thanks everyone.
justasque
Pleated. I think I will alter them and take th cuffs off. Thanks everyone. Hmm, pleated is "out", and that's a harder fix than cuffs. And the legs are slimmer now than they were when pleated/cuffs were in. Depending on how stylish your dh needs to be, and your budget, it might not be worth your labor. OTOH, if money is tight and your dh just needs to look neat and clean and tidy, not uber-stylish, then uncuffing it shall be!!! (I just weeded out some flared capris from my wardrobe. How is it that they were ever stylish? And yet, no doubt they'll be back in a few years...)
J-rap
I think they're out, but my husband will only wear khakis that are pleated with cuffs, and I think they look pretty cute on him. :)
KatieJ
Oh my. At 60 years young, he is fairly slender, but very happy with his pleat front adjustable waist line dockers, IYKWIM. redsquirrel
I think the cuffs matter less (although they are less popular) than the pleats. Those are forbidden, lol.
zoobie
No cuffs, no pleats. Thank them for their service and donate. ;)
kewb
I am old. I like cuffs. However, my teen says no cuffs and no pleats.
KatieJ
Lol. Cuffs will be gone. Pleats are here to stay and I am ok with that.
Mbelle
I heard pleated is coming back in. I don't like them at all, but what can we do??!
texasmama
My dh wears khakis with no cuffs. He is pretty up to date regarding men's fashion. I think his have pleats so I wouldn't call those a deal breaker.
meena
I advise my DH to go only for no cuffs, no pleats. I think some men can still get away with pleats if they are on the tall side.

Exactly, Dh is 6'6". No one is looking at the pleats when he walks into a room.

StephanieZ
From what I understand, no cuffs, no pleats. I just helped dh buy 5 pairs of pants today. No cuffs or pleats among them. The few remaining old pairs in his closet with pleats have recently been donated.
