mommaduck
Yes. LOL! However, I can see how you would have mixed feelings about it. You have to laugh. It's just a matter of perspective and an attempt to state things well, but ends up awkward.

Guest
Definitely a compliment coming from a 13 year old. 5-7 year olds' compliments are less hurtful: "Mom, you look really old." "Thank you, sweetie. I am really old." "Mommy, you have a lot of grey hair! It's really pretty!" "Thank you, sweetie." "Mommy, you have a squishy tummy! It's so soft to hug." "Thank you, sweetie." "Mommy, you have a big butt!" "Thank you, sweetie. I know how interested you are in butts."

RioSamba
Many compliments that come my way are immediately followed by "for a mom," or, "for your age." 😉
AndyJoy
I'm going with compliment with 13-year-old developing tact :). When I was 11 my Sunday school teacher was the 60-year-old wife of our pastor. She told us she was 113 and slept in a pickle jar to preserve her good looks. Then when I was 13 I heard her telling that to a new batch of kids so I teased her she was so old she had forgotten she was 115 now :).
