Remember over the summer at dance camp when dd16 got hit in the eye and had bleeding and swelling in the retina but then it got better? She's been telling me that for the past week, she's been losing her vision in that eye and can basically only see colors.

Oh no! When can she see a doctor? Talk about terrible timing.

In shocked stage whisper:

Krissi just admitted she didn't read the whole thread.

Honestly, reading this thread is like reading Hemmingway! I'll read a page, and get down to the bottom and have no idea what I just read. So, whether I read it or not is irrelevant. I am truly amazed that you ladies (and gentlemen, nod to Mark) can have conversations with each other because I cannot keep up! I just come here because this is where the cool people hang out! I do wine. Then by the time the turkey is done, if it didn't come out perfect I don't care.

Amen to that.

I also continually test the vegetarian stuffing (baked on a stovetop to keep it from the turkey juices). Because bread and butter and herbs is risky. I have to make sure it softens well.

Do y'all remember the woman who made big news because of her instructions for the potluck at her home? I cannot remember her name and none of the key words I have thought of have turned up the correct site. Anyone?

Marnie ?

Eta: oops, now I see you already got it.

No! Take her in (somewhere!) Monday. Hugs just aren't enough.

Oh, Renai! Is there anywhere (medical) you can take her over the weekend? ((Dancer))

Renai - Retinal specialist.  We had to have a referral from our optometrist for dd to go to hers.

Mark and Ellie - I learned how to argue well in debate class.  In fact so well that when we forgot our note cards once for an away debate (ie. at the opposing school instead of at our own) we still won because I made it all up.  They never questioned what I said or asked pertinent questions so my b.s. was allowed to stand even though the judges were dying through the entire process.  Not saying that you should debate without good facts but pointing out that there is a system to it all where you can check on facts or counter them correctly without resorting to neener neener neener.

Is there a charity she likes? Many have "gear" they sell to get the word out. I love gifts from abort73, Be The Match, and World Vision. I have t shirts and jewelry.

E-nope. We get World Vision and Samaritan's Purse gift catalogs. I'll check out the others you listed.

I have been gone all day.  After I had my blood drawn on no sleep, I went wild and took myself to the grocery store and got a huge frozen turkey and other stuff.   Then co op with my quiet English students and my loud, wild, late, disruptive, accident-prone drama students and home.  Fed the kids, threw in laundry, ran to the Peanuts movie with little dd and a friend, where I FREAKING FELL ASLEEP REPEATEDLY, which is not like me, particularly since the movie was playing at 1 million decibels.  Dh got me a new phone, I dashed home, saw college girl, and ran out to dinner with friends.

I have read but lack the mental capacity to respond in a meaningful way.

The lady who tried to run my debit card for the blood draw put in the wrong amount and then needed to take down the number and write a note for someone who knew how to fix it later today to fix it.  Then she told me she wasn't sure exactly what tests would be run, and how much it would cost so I told her to charge the card whatever it was.  The total was no more than $34 at most.

I had no qualms about this.  Love this office and this small town and these people.  If you trust folks with your debit card number, you really trust them.

I got this as a combination birthday gift from everyone last year (it took 3 years of pleading!) and I love, love, LOVE it! I wear it all the time. There's no clasp so I wear it as a long necklace, double necklace, bracelet, and belt.

Caught up. Now to get a shower and get some sleep. I got beat to death at work today, I'm tired, I smell bad and I think I would likely generate garbage if I sat down to write tonight.
On the plus side, saw a little dog back in who is coming to life after thyroid supplementation--really amazing to see her wagging her tail again. :001_smile: And vaccinated the kitten, too--she got her big girl shots today. Been wired ever since; so much for warning the boys that she might be tired and not want to play tonight. She's practically swinging from the ceiling fan.

Twelve years ago this Thanksgiving I did look like I was about to drop a pony, Slache. Term with twins is really not a pretty sight. :o

Unfortunately the only person I know who had twins had one set at 19 weeks (one stillborn, one lived for 13 minutes) and one set at 20 weeks (one stillborn and the other is now almost 2).

I don't know many twins. I live in a very pro choice area and I knew a woman that told me she decided to only have one. I sort of gasped said ok and walked away.

I have a large frame. Hopefully if I have twins it won't be too bad.

Wow, this has been a dark post! Sorry.
