Renai
Here is a question to ponder: why would a person mention, in their weekly "family update mass email" the weights of all household members? (Keep in mind, these are not people who are trying to lose weight and have accountability. Just "Grandma is holding steady at 140, Justin is 170, etc.) I guess it shouldn't surprise me since their primary topic of conversation is the weight (gain or loss), relative attractiveness, and apparent financial status of people they know. I can only imagine how they talk about us... Because they're odd. (?)
Renai
Renai, How was picking up older DD? How was the dance recital? How's the homework coming? I know you're weighing job offers, researching your ancestry, training dogs, decluttering, exercising and solving world peace in your free time. How's it going? The trip was great, the car didn't break down and I wasn't afraid of it breaking down. Amazing what spark plugs and oil that doesn't look like chocolate can do for a car. We enjoyed the performance, although we though dd should have been given a particular variation because the girl they chose was...not that good. Dd said the other girl got it because she's tall, although she and another short girl were better. Anyway... I'm doing homework now. I have 4 hours and 59 minutes to get things done. I have the signed job acceptance in my email draft folder. I have until Monday to send it. I have a subscription to ancestry.com. I'll get back to it eventually. I'm not training the dog. Older dd is back. And I'm getting a citronella collar. Meanwhile, dogs will be in the house at night. Decluttering: Monday, everyone is doing clothes. Dh gave me permission to do his as he is not picky. Tuesday, books. Wednesday until the end of my life will be papers. Thursday, toys. Don't want to plan too much, as I will get behind and will need Friday to catch up. I will be exercising in the mornings.I'll be grimy and gross the rest of the day as I cannot fit in a shower until the evening, but I'll stay out of public and have exercise done. World peace: I will forget about world peace. If I can get some semblance of peace in my own home, I'll be happy. :D

Susan in TN
College girl turns 20 next week. It seems big. My college boy turned 20 last month. I can't believe I am old enough to have a 20yo child. My mom says "just wait 'til he turns 40!" :D
ikslo
Well, so much for a fun family weekend. DS woke up sick this morning. So I spent the entire day cleaning his room and going through his toys. At least his Legos are all together in one place now, and I was able to vacuum his floor. Once I found it.

Renai
Dd was writing out a pros and cons list to homeschooling or going back to the performing arts school. She's kind of funny. Under cons, she put "no life" under homeschooling and "life sucks" under school. I'm like, seriously? She did mention she kinda wants to go back to school. I understand that. She's moving up a full level in dance (from 1 to 2B, instead of 2A, the only one from her group), and some of her younger friends - ones that are actually friends - supposed to be starting there this upcoming year. This was something I had been telling her since early spring when she was having social problems. She does see pros to both options. I did tell her that if she started school and decided to come back home, that would be easier than starting at home and trying to get back into the school. I don't know if she'd have to audition again, but there are limited spaces (it's a charter school).

It has in my house, too! I have yet to Konmari fold my clothes, though. For me, that's just gravy. I have to tackle the clutter first. I hate opening the hall closet door and having to step aside quickly to avoid being hit by whatever falls out.

Currently, the clothes are a large part of the clutter, and in order to tame it, I have to Konmari it to get it out of the way!

texasmama
A kid woke me this morning by announcing, "There is a dead rat in the garage, and it has something on it that looks like maggots. I can't get the dog past it." So I got up. It was a mouse covered with fly-like things (stage after maggots, I think). They were actually moving the dead body there were so many. I moved the car so we could get the dog another route past it. Dh arrived and dealt with the mouse body. After that, we went to church, which seemed very tame in comparison.
