Michelle My Bell
As our family is gearing up for another year of school, I have been getting excited for the year ahead by pouring over inspiring pinterest posts. It is so amazing how many creative ideas the internet has to offer. So in the spirit of inspiration, I would love it if you post a favorite pin (or two) that makes you say, "I totally need to rush out and do that!" or "That is so brilliant!" or "What a resource!". Of course the theme should be something related to homeschooling. Oh, and if you want to post a favorite website, go ahead! Here are mine: Favorite Website: Seriously! My son hated every phonics website I showed him EXCEPT this one. http://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com/
Mergath
The paint stirrer thing is a neat idea, but around here they'd be scattered around the house in ten minutes flat.

displace
I'm using pinterest for ideas to teach sight word and spelling practice. No links, but it's great to inspire creativity for me.

prairiewindmomma
You know whose pinterest boards you should look up? Plum Crazy....I've spent hours on her boards...I ran across them on a random pin, looked at her boards.....she's got great taste in her board collection! (PS--I promise I'm not some crazy cyberstalker!)
The paint stirrer thing is a neat idea, but around here they'd be scattered around the house in ten minutes flat. There's also the assumption that books on the shelves are sorted into some particular order.
Desert Rat
My 6th grader has a hard time being descriptive. Creative writing is very difficult for him. I like this idea to help with that: I also like this idea to teach moon phases: And it's oreos! :)
Desert Strawberry
We are transitioning to story based school for everything possible. We used Arithmetic Village to kick off our math. We will go back and reread the series many, many times over the next few years. http://arithmeticvillage.com/ Maybe this isn't what you had in mind, but I found it on pinterest :)
Tap
Ok., so the paint stirrers look cute, but honestly, why would they need to sort that few of books? LOL I think there may be more paint stirrers than books LOL
Desert Strawberry
Ok., so the paint stirrers look cute, but honestly, why would they need to sort that few of books? LOL I think there may be more paint stirrers than books LOL Our library does this for holds. You can walk up, find your letter and pull your own books. It's lovely. At home? Overkill. Moxie
I finally figured out that searching "organize home library" would get more useful pins than "organize kid's books". But, yeah, I wonder if it would be a waste of time like The Great Color Sorted Lego Fiasco of 2010???
lil' maids in a row
I have a seperate bookshelf for research books. The paint stirrers would be a great way to divide them by topic.
TechWife
Our library does this for holds. You can walk up, find your letter and pull your own books. It's lovely. At home? Overkill. We have nearly 4,000 books in our home. It wouldn't be overkill here.

KrissiK
Ahh, the pain stirrers separate the books. In my house we would call that, "a convenient way to store your weapons!" Those things wouldn't last 10 seconds around my boys.
