AimeeM
He's drinking well, but pretty upset and is refusing almost all food. Either tell me he will live, or tell me to go home. I'm a bundle of nerves.
SKL
He'll live. :) Tell your sister to let him drink and eat whatever he wants for the weekend. Assuming he has no health issues, he will not expire, and he'll probably eat ravenously once he decides being hungry isn't fun.
mamajag
He will live. Most people wouldn't make it past the toddler eating like a bird stage if going 48 hours without food was something to be worried about.
Catwoman
I'm more concerned about him being so upset than I am about him refusing to eat. I'm sure this won't be the popular opinion here, but I would go home. The poor little guy is only 2 years old. He may simply not be ready for his mom to be away from him. AimeeM
Nevermind. He just ate three bowls of rice. :p
Moxie
Stop calling the kids!! Enjoy being away!!
ThisIsTheDay
Good, glad to hear he's eating! I've been in a similar situation (I took my 19 month old to visit my parents and she wouldn't eat or sleep). The rice should make him feel better. Try to enjoy the rest of your trip, your sweet boy is in good hands. :grouphug: :grouphug:

ChristusG
Yay!! So glad he ate! But yeah, I'd have gone back home if he was that upset and still not eating. That's just how I parent.
MiMi 4under3
From a nurse's point of view... as long as he drinks, who cares if he eats! ;)

I'm sure this won't be the popular opinion here, but I would go home. The poor little guy is only 2 years old. He may simply not be ready for his mom to be away from him. That's what I was thinking. And so your sister isn't driven to drink... ;) Of course for my kids to be so upset they couldn't/wouldn't eat would be catastrophic end times type upset.
