morganvicky98
As any master of the kitchen knows, there comes a time when cheesecloth becomes a necessity. Hmmm, where to buy cheesecloth?! Being an internet freak, I tend to look online rather than local. I've been told that http://cheeseclothfabric.com is excellent... can anyone corroborate that? Ladies, please (if you are a man, don't even think about replying! ...sorry if that sounded sexist :))
happi duck
I've only bought it at the grocery store. But usually I'm in the "I forgot I need cheesecloth!" mode and need it immediately.
amyco
Lol I clicked on it...it's really a whole website for cheesecloth, which is overkill imho. I just buy it at Williams Sonoma or even the grocery store if they have it. I overthink a lot of things, but not cheesecloth.
Ann.without.an.e
I like Norpro on Amazon. Of course there are men who know the ins and outs of cheesecloth. Don't limit your resources :) They might have quite a bit to add.
Guest
Where is it in the grocery store? I've avoided buying it because I wasn't sure where it was or what kind of packaging it was. I guess I could have asked, but I never wanted it that bad.
amy g.
If anyone is really making cheese, I like this stuff. http://www.cheesemaking.com/store/p/73-Cheesecloth-Disposable.html
fairfarmhand
I use a length of muslin from my sewing stash. Cut up an old pillowcase.
Guest
You know those sections where they sell gadgets, pans, etc? I've seen it there. Oh, cool. I'll check there. I think I checked by the canning supplies one time, and didn't see it.
Mrs Mungo
Err...I just buy it at the fabric store? I mostly use it for Halloween costumes.
mamaraby
JoAnns - the prices are cheaper and you get a larger quantity than at the grocery store. Plus, you can often use a coupon or get your educator's discount.
Excelsior! Academy
Just curious...why no men? Are you planning on using this for something other than cheese or kitchen things? No one would know if you do not announce it. We really aren't secret mind reading spies....well, okay I am...but I generally don't share that in a public forum. :D
Melissa in Australia
I have always bought cheesecloth form a material supply shop.
amyco
Wow...LOL I'd like cheese cloth that doesn't fray when you cut it. So maybe smaller individual sheets. Do they have that? I'm not sure, as I only looked at it enough to know it was a safe site to look at...well, that might be up for interpretation, but it is all about cheesecloth. Maybe using sharper scissors would prevent fraying?
happi duck
I love that there is now a cheesecloth tag. Why yes, I am easily amused...why do you ask?
Mabeline
I think I bought some at Walmart long time ago.
morganvicky98
I apologize for the sexist comment - it was meant more as a joke than as a serious expression of my assessment of male intelligence or skill. I happen to come from a religious background and believe in the traditional roles of men and women and find it funny how feminism has made so much of our society believe that men and women differ mostly due to sociological conditioning.
