I also really like Wolves of Willoughby Chase, but I haven't thought whether it might be too scary for younger ones...Kildee House is more along the lines of Pooh :). The puppies come home on Christmas Eve. :-) And it isn't anything like the Disney movie--well, except for the characters and the basic plot. My children would never allow me to buy the animated version after having read the book (we read the book before VCRs were invented, if you can believe that, lol). Another idea (we haven't read these ourselves yet; I just read a few from a friend's copy; they were more interesting than expected & sweet, too): Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Read-Aloud Treasury. If you've never read the original stories, do try them for the Pooh-loving age/set (perhaps @ the library) -- note, they have 5 solid stars & 40 reviews at Amazon; they are so so much better than the video stories!
