VaKim
I found this skirt at the Goodwill the other day, but have no idea what kind of top to wear with it. Any suggestions? I am only 5 feet tall, if that makes a difference. I know, short women shouldn't wear long skirts, but I love it and want to anyway. It is silk and from Talbots and just like new. Love Goodwill shopping. :-)
lamolina
I think it depends on how dressy you want to make your outfit. For a casual look you could do a denim button up shirt or even just a solid blue or white nice t-shirt. Nice find! I love and miss shopping at thrift stores. WishboneDawn
Google "maxi skirts" and look at some pictures for inspiration. If you do find that the skirt is too long it would be easy to have shortened. You might even have enough fabric left to have a scarf made. I prefer casual, and that would be neat! Off to do more thrift hunting. :-) Google "maxi skirts" and look at some pictures for inspiration. Don't know if I need that much off, but what a neat idea for some of those that are as long as I am tall!
MomatHWTK
I would get a long waisted navy T-shirt. If the shirt goes down well below your hips it should help elongate you. Make sure the T has a nice profile and doesn't look boxy though.
jhschool
Black or navy long-sleeved or 3/4 sleeved, v-neck or rounded v-neck knit top. OR White, black, or navy short-sleeved button down blouse with a little simple collar. Necklace, ring, big earrings, and sandals.
ChrisB
How about a pretty camisole or cap sleeve shirt under a short sleeve jacket for summer and long sleeve jacket for winter? The jacket could be denim or leather or whatever. Found this pinterest page. Have fun! Cute skirt!
Shamzanne
I have two skirts very similar to that one and I wear one of them most days. I'm wearing one right now! I have a huge variety of black shirts I wear with them to dress them up or down. Either a 3/4 sleeve black tee, a black v-neck tunic, a black knit shirt with folds that make it fancier. This is definitely my uniform! I love it! I sometimes wear a navy shirt but usually black. Not so matchy matchy. I love your skirt!
Tammyla
It's pretty. I'd take the skirt shopping with me and try on tops suggested by the sales people.

J-rap
I'm thinking some kind of a white, fitted sleeveless blouse would look cute. Not too long. http://www.foxcroftcollection.com/solid-fitted-sleeveless-non-iron-blouse.html http://www.foxcroftcollection.com/sleeveless-eyelet-shirt-1.html Or even a camisole style white blouse. Something like these (although I would like them more if the straps were about an inch wide): http://www.ebay.com/itm/H-M-White-Camisole-Sz-4-Gap-White-Blouse-Sz-XS-Vintage-Blue-Flora-Skirt-Sz-4-/261065083680
VaKim
What a bunch of great ideas! I never would have thought of several of them myself. Thanks for the ideas and the links! (This doesn't mean for people to stop responding. I love looking at all the ideas.) :)
QueenCat
Since the skirt is relatively loose and not fitted, I'd wear something relatively fitted or you could end up with a sloppy look. Loose on both top and bottom makes most women, from what I've seen, look bigger.
