Amanda's Mommy
I am thinking about getting a refurbished Ipad. Has anyone bought one? Have you had any problems with it? Should I also get the Applecare?
Tammi K
We bought two of them fro the on-line Apple store. They arrived quickly and looked brand-new. There has been absolutely no problem with either of them and I would not hesitate to buy a refurbished Apple product in the future.
Heatherwith4
I got one from Apple in March. It's been great so far, and I've noticed no difference between it and my previous iPad I bought brand new.
violamama
The laptop I use for hours a day everyday and have had for close to 2 years is a refurb. I didn't get the applecare. They say they check out the stuff even more thoroughly than the newly-builts.
PeterPan
Our refurb is good. Don't fiddle with the applecare but yes to a good case. We like our Maroo. Check out the fun videos on youtube.
Lisa in Jax
We've bought three, with no issues at all. The only difference between new and refurb (for us), has been that the refurb was shipped in a different box.
NicAnn
We buy almost exclusively refurb products. Phones tvs radios etc. no problems thus far.

mamaraby
I had AppleCare on my iPad2. Just a few months shy of the two year expiration I started having problems with the battery not charging. After a two software suggestions for troubleshooting, they swapped out my iPad with a refurb. I haven't had any problems with it. :0) The whole replacement process was super smooth and the employees I dealt with were friendly and professional. I wouldn't go without AppleCare, especially since AppleCare+ includes some repairs (like if you cracked your screen) for $50. So, yes, in essence I'd definitely consider a refurb in the future. ChristusG
Love Apple refurbs! No iPads, but we have several iPod Touches that are refurbished. Never an issue with them. They looked brand new on arrival.
Kathryn
We've had ours for over a year now. No problems.
happypamama
Don't have a refurb but wouldn't hesitate to buy one. And when my iPad hits its one-year mark and the standard warranty expires, I will be buying AppleCare. Definitely get a case. I have the Belkin one with the keyboard, which I really like, and I also have screen protectors for it. The kids have all used the iPad, and so far, so good. mamajag
I bought 2 refurbished iPads. They are still going strong. They looked brand new. I heartily recommend AppleCare. On top of extending your warranty it adds accident coverage. They will replace your iPad up to 2 times for a $50 copay. ETA: I have also bought a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro refurbished. No issues with those, either.
