Jean in Newcastle
Last week my 91 year old dad had surgery on his bladder to remove a mass or possibly to biopsy the bladder itself (my family gives very confused medical reports on what the doctor actually said about this). The results were given today. He has bladder cancer. It is non-invasive. They will be treating him with medication.
Liz CA
Non-invasive is good. I hope he is not in pain.

sheryl
:grouphug: Jean, it sounds like it's treatable. What will they give him? Praying.....
Catwoman
I'm so sorry to hear that your dad has cancer, Jean, but am very relieved to hear that it is non-invasive. I hope he responds well to the medication. :grouphug:
Jean in Newcastle
Don't know what they will give them. My dad, brother and sister are all so clueless. It was extremely painful for my dad when they did the exam and he's afraid of the pain. I have told my sister to call the doctor and tell them of his pain and ask them to give him a local or do something to numb the aread during procedure. She hadn't thought of that. She's going to see about calling tomorrow about that.

sheryl
Also, you may want to consider keeping the option open of talking to the doctor by phone (when needed and if necessary). I know when my Mom and Dad were hospitalized, my brother, sister and myself all spoke with the doctor independent of one another. Just a thought if that would help. Dh and I (Dh more than I) know more about medicine than anyone but we're one of the farthest ones away.
Tiramisu
I'm sorry for the news, but it's good that it's something that can be treated with medicine. It must be so frustrating to be so far away. :grouphug:

caroljenn
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Non-invasive is very good news. And cancer in a 91 year old should grow slowly, so that's good too. I will continue to pray for your dad, your family and you and your husband.
