An Hour

This is seriously going to drive me nuts.

We only have a pay as you go cell, so the most I'm going to hear is if he thinks the interview went well, and the details will have to wait til he gets home. At around bedtime.

I may not make it til then. :001_huh:

Recommended course of action (coming from a woman who is home and NOT doing ACT prep at the school or meeting with a problem student because HALF my family is nauseous and waiting to "lose it" - therefore you understand my less than stable state of mind :tongue_smilie:) is:

Chick flick extraordinaire...something with an excellent British Accent - Colin Firth, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Johnny Depp, or Matthew Macfeyden to name a few. Just give the kids something to munch on and plenty of things to do while you and boo hunker down for the day with dreamy men to help you take your mind off it! :D

Chocolate is highly advised in such cases. Unfortunately, I am not close enough to you to get MIL's rum cake to your home because her rum cake is the ULTIMATE medicine for anything that ails you!

Seriously, I understand. When dh and I were engaged, he went on a job interview for an excellent position and we couldn't set our wedding date until we knew the outcome of that...would he be staying with his job in Florida, moving to Indiana, etc. it affected where I would be applying for an assistantship and a host of plans. This was "pre-cell" phones. He went on the interview, got to a phone, called his brother, called his dad, and then briefly called to tell me, "It went really well, bye." Then he took off to go fishing with some buds. I thought the wait for details would kill me. Suffice it to say, it was the very last time in his life in which his brother, dad, or buddies ever received the details before I did. :glare:

That's the thing, Faith...

It's not just a job that is going to be determined. It's where we live, when we move, it'll mean Wolf lives away during the wk and home on wknds for probably a month or so until we can get packed and find a place...potentially buy our first home...

So much is hinging on this.

Better him than me, I guess. :tongue_smilie: I can't imagine the pressure he must be feeling right now, w/so much riding on it.

I do understand IMP! I really have btdt...dh's job that I described, literally meant HUGE changes to the rest of my schooling, it meant the possibility of breaking his lease and a financial fall out from that and yet this still being a really good plan, moving a huge distance, not seeing each other for months while I finished my degree, possibly post-poning the wedding or speeding it up, etc. That job interview was a killer....on top of which, the choices were stay where he was at - which would have been easy but a killer for his career - take that Indiana job which was good for me because I could accept the assistantship at Butler, or what for it - accept a job in Japan and I wouldn't get to finish school until after his four year contract expired there and we moved back stateside.

So, I do get the nerves. I couldn't concentrate, I seemed paralyzed not knowing. I'm sorry that it's going to be like this for you for tooo many hours, and who knows how many days until you know if he will be offered the position or not. It's a nerve wrecker. That's why I recommend trying to find a distraction to help the time pass. Watching the clock tick is brutal.

I'm praying he gets it! Unforunately for us, dh got the job but didn't find out for another month because some person who had to approve it was out of the country. My deadline for accepting my assistantship at Butler University expired during that time and because he hadn't heard anything, we assumed it was going to be either Japan or Florida, so I turned it down. Then, low an behold, he got the job.

Five.days.too.late.for.me.to.accept.the.position.

Therefore, I'm basically annoying the heck out of God over this on your behalf because since I've done the "wait that can kill a person" that didn't turn out the way I had hoped, I've decided that I'm determined that it will go better for you if begging, whining, and pleading are at all effective with the Almighty! :001_smile:

Wow, I was just coming in this thread to bug you! I'm guessing that's a good sign...? Surely Wolf knows you are at home dying of suspense.

One would hope he'd call ASAP...and of course, I'm not willing to call him in case he's not finished yet!

Jean,

Do me a big favor and tell Imp to PM her address to me. In about a week, I'll have my "Boo" project done. It's only taken me a whole lot longer than I thought, but then I didn't know when I started it that I would end up taking a part-time job. So, I'm slow getting things complete.

This will at least give her a few minutes to think about something else!

Faith - who really should be grading chem papers instead of hanging out on the boards, but who also really doesn't feel like looking at chem papers.

Boo project? Awesome! :D

I didn't know you played piano. :)

pssst...it's in her siggie ;)

WOLF CALLED.

The man is lucky I'm letting him come home :glare: He waited until he'd already been driving an hr and a half!! ARGH!

He thinks it went well, and they told him the job starts Apr 2nd, and that they'd let him know one way or the other next wk (or within a wk? I forget the exact wording). He's unsure as to if there's a 2nd interview, or it'll be a straight hire.

If it's a straight hire, and he gets it, that would be the best of all possibilites for us...it would mean that we could find a place and move in time for him to start, rather than him being away all wk and home on the wknds.

We figure we'd have to rent for at least a few mths, even if we find the perfect house, mortgage, etc, b/c the chances of it having an extremely fast closing is slim to none.

Our biggest problem will be the mini pony. So many places won't accept dogs :glare:

:hurray: Sounds like good news. Don't worry about the rest. It will sort itself out I'm sure! I sure hope he gets it! Praying for you hon. :):grouphug::grouphug:

I was coming to check the outcome before going to bed.

Continuing to pray that the pick Wolf.

PM me your phone number. :D

Thanks Chucki

Oh, that sounds like good news!

But making you wait.... he owes you something special for that!

Are you going to have problems with workman's comp if you make this move?

According to my union rep, they can't. We're staying in the province. I'm on the world's most useless supportive job search right now, even the employment specialist is at a loss, telling me she can't see this being successful, so from what I understand, if he gets this job, I'll just restart the job search there.

Hey, that sounds pretty good compared to how unreasonable it would have been when you were considering that other move. Good to hear it shouldn't really cause you any hassle.
