If someone said "tomato sauce," though, I'd assume they meant spaghetti sauce! If you go to McDonald's in Australia and ask for tomato sauce, they'll give you a packet of ketchup-like product. nd293 Posted November 23, 2011 Share Posted November 23, 2011 Officially we call it tomato sauce (we're South African in speech, Australian in residence), but it was one of ds's first words, and it came out "morch" and so for the last 3+ yrs we've mostly referred to it as morch. Great fun, except when we realise that he doesn't know the correct word, and regularly confounds other adults and children by asking for "morch".
