ubermomto5
i've also heard 'morning meeting' but i'd like something that will attract both my older kids and my younger boys. anyone use a name for it that is enticing?
thescrappyhomeschooler
We call it Opening Ceremonies.
Hunter
If you are going to add in religion, call it "family worship".

Karen in CO
We call it Breakfast. :) I do a read aloud while they eat to start our day. What kind of things do you plan to do during this time? That might help to define what you could name it. Unless you are going to sit in a circle, sing songs, and do finger plays. If that is what you plan, then you should call it Circle Time. frankcassiesmom
Ours is just table time. Though I read on a blog today where they called it together time and I kind of like that.

NanceXToo
Assembly? That's what they'd call it in school, I guess :P
Cosmos
I only have one child. Circle time sounds absurd for a grown woman and a tween boy sitting at the table. I guess we call it together time, though we don't really have a formal name for it. Or sometimes "red boxes", because I put all the things we work on together in red boxes. His independent work goes in green boxes.
nmoira
We call it Breakfast.This. I read aloud before the kids even get out of bed in the morning then go downstairs to finish making breakfast while they get ready for the day. One of the things we do at breakfast is talk about the plans for the day... that's as circle time-y as I get.
SnMomof7
We don't call it anything...though we are doing it. I too think circle time sounds funny :). I am calling it 'together time' in my own mind :).
theYoungerMrsWarde
Why not have the kids pick a name for it? You might be surprised by what they come up with. :001_smile: :iagree:
KeriJ
We actually started calling it "rug time" since we meet on the area rug in the living room.
