astrid
Uh, stilettos and corsets? :D Bunny ears, fluffy tails and a cigar box? (oh, wait-- that's Playboy style"):D Hmmm.....I'd have no idea, but can't wait to hear the answer! astrid

OLG
Funny, my first thought was 'dressed to the nines' or very fancy as in going to a party in the penthouse(not Playboy stuff). Mary
fairytalemama
What kind of function is it? I'm going to DIE if you say it's a church function or a charity fundraiser. I hate it when people make up dress codes you've never heard of before. I remember getting an invitation to an event and the dress code was "dressy bar wear". And it was not at a bar. What is that supposed to mean??? Dress like you're going out to a bar but nicer? And what kind of bar? A sports bar or like a downtown club? I ended up wearing black slacks with a black jacket and everyone else was dressed ranging from short MTV night club like dresses to jeans and a T-shirt. I guess they were just as confused as me. MomOfOneFunOne
I've actually been to a couple of parties in a penthouse and they were both casual/expensive. I lived in a penthouse in Panama (the one in central america ;)) and while I never actually had a party there, it would have been casual/whatever you can afford if I had had one. Now that I think of some of the movies I've seen, they seem to be blk tie. And I agree with the pp who said it's just ignert to make up dress "codes." golfcartmama
I would call the Marriott and ask. It's possible their sales person suggested the attire label.

Mejane
Skimpy clothes and a 90-yo man on your arm? No wait, that would be Playboy style. ;)
Mabelen
I would say ballroom dance style? That seems to be the activity of the event to partake in or to watch!
FaithManor
Mejane, You and I were thinking alike! I also had a 'Hooters??" thought. Honestly, can't invitations stick to standards we can all understand, ie. casual, business, business dress, formal, and black tie? I get those! So, basically what I am hearing you say is that my hooded sweatshirt and yoga pants are NOT appropriate attire? Alas, I have no 90-year-old man to hang upon my arm. :::sigh::::

helena
I'm changing my answer. I think it means wear something you can have fun dancing in, like these:http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=464756&CategoryID=5449#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D725 http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=368162&CategoryID=5449#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D725 Edited January 18, 2011 by helena
redsquirrel
To me, that says evening wear. Women in gowns and men in tuxes. However, I would call the production company to find out. I will just bet that a man came up with that. A woman would know how to describe a dress code!
NanceXToo
Maybe they use the phrase "dance" the way some of you guys use "tea"... you know, wink, wink, nudge, nudge... In that case... naked. :D Or... I guess it could just mean "dress formal" but who knows, I've never heard/seen the word "penthouse" used in that context. ThatCyndiGirl
I called the number. There was a message stating that I could send a check or money order to a POST OFFICE BOX (no paypal or other online payment method....am I in the last Century?!), but no clue as to the dress code. Weird.
