1bassoon
He was holding me awake - all 3 weeks old I was - in front of the TV, so that I could say, "I saw the first man walk on the moon!" So. . . . . . "I saw the first man walk on the moon!" (Thanks, Dad!)
OnTheBrink
I have very vague memories of seeing it on TV. I was 2.5 and I remember sitting on the itchy carpet in the living room watching the TV. I remember my dad being very excited about it and telling me what it was, and I also remember not having the first clue what he was talking about! LOL
CalicoKat
I was giving my mother labor pains. :D
Janet in WA
Unfortunately, I remember it well, as I was (and still am) a little older than the rest of you.
gardening momma
I was not yet a twinkle in my father's eye. :)
dangermom
Aw, that is so cute. My parents were newlyweds, still in college, and watched it on their 12" TV in their apartment.

I remember my dad being very excited about it and telling me what it was, and I also remember not having the first clue what he was talking about! LOL Wow! We have twin memories (except for the itchy carpet part; ours wasn't) -- and are the same age too!
swellmomma
I was not yet a twinkle in my father's eye. :) I was just thinking the same thing. My dad would have been only been 15 my mom would have been 11. So they both watched but certainly weren't thinking about kids lol
Tree House Academy
Awww..what a neat thing for him to do! I was -10 (that is NEGATIVE TEN) forty years ago, so I didn't see the first walk on the moon until about 20 years after it happened. My mom was 20 and my dad was 21 then. They remember it well. :) My dh was 4 DAYS old. :)

K in MI
My dad was anxiously waiting by the TV along w/the rest of my family; I was 10. Dad worked at NASA, so he had a vested interest in how things turned out. Off-topic: Heather, do you really play the bassoon? Me too! Vida Winter
What a sweet dad! I remember watching the moon walk, being around 8 years old at the time. Very exciting! Dana
Needleroozer
I was four- I remember thinking how weird it was that my entire family was in front of the tv at the same time- there were 6 kids at the time. four of them older teens, and having them all home was something! My baby sis was born July 12th, so she has no memory of it either, but yes, my Dad made sure she was with us ,lol, so she could say the same thing! Orthodox6
I remember the event well. I was 14, and was forced to watch the television. I was painfully bored, and could not have cared less. That surely is the "minority opinion" !
dirty ethel rackham
I vaguely remember it. I was 6. I am sure we watched it in the livingroom on our black and white tv.
Laura Corin
I saw it on TV. I was six. I couldn't really work out what the fuss was about. I distinctly remember asking, 'Hasn't anyone been there before?' Laura
