Love love LOVE The Greatest Showman!!! My three girls and I have seen it 3 times (2 regular showings and 1 sing a long showing) and have it pre-ordered on DVD. We know every song on the soundtrack! Now we’re about to do a study on the real life PT Barnum! (The movie was very very loosely based upon his life, from the biography I’ve been reading). We were just saying today that we’d love to see a live musical of The Greatest Showman. You should watch some of the auditions and “green light†tapings of rehearsals. They’re on YouTube. Watching Keala Settle get emotional while singing This Is Me and then seeing Hugh Jackman get emotional right along with her was so touching! And then seeing Hugh Jackman get up and sing From Now On, even though he’d just had surgery and had instructions from his doctor to refrain from singing, Hugh just couldn’t resist getting into the song. Love it!! (He then went promptly back to the doctor to redo the stitches).

My kids have done that. Usually only when they are babies and toddlers though. None of them do it anymore now that they’re older (13, 10, and 6). I never thought anything of it.

Evenings at home would slow life down for me. We have commitments 4/7 evenings. Around holidays those commitments are usually cancelled and it's so nice to have those evenings at home. It's relaxing.

It charges beside my bed with the sound on. I never turn notifications on for anything except texts. And it's a very rare occursnce that I've ever had anyone text me between 11pm and 7am.

Totally agree. I married at 19 and I think that was perfect. We grew up together, went through the firsts of adulthood together. We went straight from our parents homes to being married. We didn't live on our own, or end up "set in our ways" and having to adjust to any possible annoyances in going from the single life to the married life. I fully believe that marrying young is the way to go if you've found someone you love. I do know that my philosophy on marriage is not a popular one. I'm glad I never felt the need to "get anything out of my system" before getting married.

Pretty much any Gamewright game....Go Nuts, Loot, Dragonwood, Sleeping Queens, Quixx, and Wig Out are among our favorites. We also love Tenzi.

My beloved JRT passed away a few years ago at the age of 14. We'd had him since he was 9 weeks old. I can honestly say he was the best dog I've ever had or seen anywhere. He was so, so smart. I worked with him some, but he'd pick up on things and just learn them himself. I could let him wander the unfenced yard and he wouldn't even attempt to leave. He absolutely was not like the JRT's that people sometimes describe. His only high energy times were when guests first arrived at the house. He was so ecstatic to see them that he'd run circles around the living room for the first few minutes. After those few minutes, he was fine. Totally calm. He was not a barker, unless someone rang the doorbell. He wasn't destructive past the first 6 months, which is the typical puppy chewing age. Actually, I could throw his stuffed animal in with a bunch of my kids stuffed animals and he'd go and choose his and only chew on that one. I didn't teach him that. When I sat on the couch, he became a cuddler. He loved to lounge around with me. He loved to fetch and swim. When I'd say "dog park", he knew he was going to play at the park and went nuts with excitement. He got along great with all animals. One of his favorite friends was my sisters cat. He loved our rodent, a degu. He'd play with it and never attempted to hurt it. Our Chase was quite a dog! His only issue was the shedding!

I try to follow my instincts on things like this. Some places I would have said yes, some places no. Last month we went to a large hotel/convention center a few weeks after oldest DD turned 13. I did let her go back and forth from the room to the convention hall quite a few times. She had a phone, the route was pretty direct, etc. Some places I will feel less comfortable and say no. I don't let her wander around stores alone....too many news stories of abductions.

Haven't used it yet, but I bought levels K, 4, and 7. Plus handwriting, nature journals, and history. I'll be doing a mix of this history as well as my own.

Disney is much more than just 4 amusement parks. There is an endless list of possibilities to do while onsite. We go to Disney 6 or 7 times a year and never get bored. We spend a week there each fall. Outside of the four parks, you can.... Go parasailing Rent boats Go on pirate adventure cruises Go on fireworks cruises Shop at Disney Springs Take tours Go to a plethora of restaurants Resort hop and exploring by monorail, bus, or boat Attend a princess tea party Go to the bippidiy boppity boutique Go mini golfing Go regular golfing Pony rides or horseback riding Campfire singalong and outdoor movie Go on a hayride Go canoeing or kayaking Go fishing Ride a Segway Rent bikes and surrey bikes Walk trails Go on a carriage ride Play in an arcade Play shuffleboard, basketball, tetherball Learn archery Go to a dinner show That just scratches the surface and none of those require park admission!

We've been season pass holders for years now....and I've probably been to Disney 100 times since I was a kid. So yeah, we kinda love it. We're definitely a Disney family. We actually just went to Pandora on Sunday to see the new land. Someone mentioned wasting money on taking little kids there. Those are some of our most precious memories! Two to four years old is a sweet spot! Everything is so real and magical to them at that age. I wouldn't trade those memories for the money at all!

Anyone ever done one or participated in one? It would be a great way for kids to learn about economics, businesses, etc. I'm trying to figure out the logistics of how things would work though. In a classroom setting, the kids would all have equal opportunities to earn money (fake) based on classroom jobs. I'm not survhow that could work in a homeschool setting. I wouldn't want one kid showing up with $500 and another showing up with $20. I figure that each parent could begin the learning process about a month before the actual market day. The kids could create their products, come up with business names, discuss economics, create advertisements.....even create commercials and post them to a private FB page for the other kids to view before the market day. All products would need to be student made. I'm just unsure of how the actual day should be run regarding money, etc. Anyone have suggestions? Experiences? Wondering if it would be feasible to include all grades from K-12...whoever wants to participate.

DH and I just saw Gifted today. We liked it! The little girl is a fantastic little actress.

I used to use otterboxes but they peel too easily. They're also bulky. I switched to a Unicorn Beetle. They're the best cases I've ever used! I get them on Amazon. They're a great price and protect very well. I drop my iPhone 7 all the time. We now have about 5 that are used in our house and many of my friends and family switched to them as well.

I gagged when I tried buttered popcorn. It tastes waaaaay too much like the real thing. That flavor and texture together just isn't right!

DD#1 I nursed until 27 months. She self weaned when I became pregnant with DD#2....I'm thinking my milk probably tasted differently then. DD#2 I nursed until her 4th birthday. I chose to wean her then because I was pregnant with DD#3 and my breasts were very sensitive and it was really starting to hurt. DD#3 I nursed until her 3rd birthday. She was a very needy night nurser and she kept waking me to nurse and it was affecting my sleep. So I weaned her.

My oldest is about to turn 13. I honestly don't think it's ever crossed her mind to ask to go anywhere else. We've been with this doctor since DD was born. Thankfully, the pediatrician is a female so we don't have that issue. I'll take DD there for as long as they'll have her....I'm not sure if that's 18 or what. But I do understand the desire for a girl to have a female doctor. Are there any female pediatricians in your area?

I despise junk toys that no one plays with. And I don't like them having a lot of candy. So I'm willing to spend a little more to get things that will actually be used. DD12 - Star Wars shirt, few Star Wars figures, chocolate bunny, Mentos, 3 books, 2 DVD's, lip balm in a tsum tsum figure. I need a couple more things....I'm considering flippers for the pool, a small Star Wars Lego set, or a Star Wars maps book. DD10 - Star Wars shirt, few Star Wars figures, chocolate bunny, robin eggs, lip balm in a tsum tsum figure, several plush Disney Tsum tsums to add to her collection, 3 books. Considering adding a Star Wars Creatures book, small Star Wars Lego kit, sticker mosaic. DD5 - She's actually the most difficult! Right now I only have a chocolate bunny, peeps, 2 books, and a little microphone that plays the song from Mickey and the Roadster Racers. I'm considering a Wonder Woman robe, a DVD, Tsum tsums, Paw Patrol figure, etc. As for stuffing eggs, I usually put quarters, some dollar bills, homemade coupons (extra screen time, stay up later, skip a school abject, etc), or pieces of paper that are redeemed for prizes that cannot fit into the eggs......such as I found some $1 pranks and they won't fit in the eggs, a stuffed animal, a $5 gift card, a ball, etc.

I'm sure they will be accepting, but just know that AHG has a very strong Christian focus that is woven throughout their entire program, from badgework to group outings. It's not simply just a daily devotion and prayer. We were very involved in AHG for a few years and loved it.

My 12 year old learned all the states and capitals with an animaniacs song.
