  1. My daughter will be 14 next month and is insisting that she doesn't want any gifts. I feel weird about not giving her anything. At the very least, we'll give her money to put in the bank for when she's older. I'd like to give her one more gift, but don't want to upset her on her birthday either. In the past, her favorite gifts from us were things we surprised her with and she didn't ask for (a personalized ornament, a personalized mug, etc.). She's really into the Olympics this year - particularly gymnastics - and I'd love to get her an Olympics t-shirt. Her birthday is right before the Olympics start. Any opinion on what we should do? I'd love to surprise her with something and I think she'd love the shirt, but she is firm on no gifts.
  2. My doctor told me that my uterus is fused to my abdominal wall, but I haven't noticed any problems (my last c-section was almost 14 years ago). I never heard of anyone else having that happen to.
  3. My daughter will be 14 in August and really wants a job, but there is nothing available because she's too young. So frustrating. She does volunteer.
  4. I've also had pain in my right side for years. I had some testing done and nothing was found. When I get it, it goes deep into my right side and spreads to my hip. Sometimes it lasts a few hours and then it's gone. So weird. I know it started before I was pregnant with my youngest and she's almost 14 so it's been a long time.
  5. My parents never sent me care package, but my roommate's parents sent her big ones and made sure they sent enough for me. So sweet! Now I'm feeling kind of guilty for not sending them to my own kids. They go to college 3 hours away and come home pretty frequently.
  6. I am even lamer...I have never sent a care package! Oops!
  7. I'm embarrassed about this, but I hate most vegetables and rarely eat them. I'm picky and eat like a toddler most of the time. My kids are great eaters, though. They all eat very healthy and are very careful about their diets.
  8. I'd love to lose a few pounds, but I really struggle to just maintain. It's just a battle every single day. I want to eat what I want and still fit in my clothes. It seems so unfair sometimes. I just hope I don't gain anything this summer. I work out hard, but struggle with the food.
  9. Two of my sons worked part-time in high school. My third did not because he participated in sports and didn't have time for a job. Two worked part-time worked in college. The other didn't - he has ASD and I think it would be too much for him. He is fortunate to have a job at home that takes him back during breaks. I do expect my youngest to work part-time when she's old enough. She's 13 now and volunteers at the library. ETA - my kids all did very well academically even with working and taking challenging courseloads. As far as family time, only one job really impacted that because it was a retail job in high school and the employer was open on holidays.
  10. I am sorry for your loss. I think it's very hard for our brains to process sudden death - especially of a young person.

    Clomid

This happened to me twice with the injectable drugs. I had to be hospitalized and put on morphine for the pain. It was awful. I didn't know it could happen with Clomid.

    Clomid

I was successful using Clomid with my oldest son who was born in 1991. I did have intrauterine inseminations done to conceive, though. I think I was also taking decadron and something else (I can't remember - it was so long ago!). When we tried to conceive again, the Clomid didn't work. I went through years of infertility treatments and finally conceived my twins a few years later. We tried infertility treatments again unsuccessfully after my twins were born and then, just as we felt our family was complete, we had a surprise pregnancy.
  13. Woo-hoo! Such a great feeling! Congratulations!
  14. I have a few FB friends who post pics of what seems like every meal they eat. It does annoy me, but I try to remember it's their page and not my business what they post. Still, I don't understand the desire to post everything I eat.
  15. I tried sending her a pm, but it came back saying she can't receive new messages.
  16. I wish I had known about this before I bought Oak Meadow biology. It looks really good!
