  1. Well, DD read the sample from teh fraction one, and I have nothing to lose at that price so I will order it. I need to look at Singapore too. I had decided on TT but now I am not so sure, especially reading that many people think they are too easy.
  2. Just let me say I HATE the low rise jean fad. Not flattering on 90% of the population. (yes, I made that statistic up randomly. :D) Sorry you are having trouble. I am just fat. 15lbs times about 4.
  3. I would have him re-evaluated for sleep apnea anyhow. All apnea is not detectable by listening. It tends to progress too. Just a thought.
  4. Thsi is what I am using http://donnayoung.org/forms/index.htm
  5. I was looking at this last night and DD REALLY wants to do it. She was so excited. I am wondering though if they really do master the cocnepts with this program? I have read mixed reviews and I want to pull my hair out. So HIVE, what is your experience with it?
  6. Me too! However, DD is not a natural speller. I am starting her in 1 of SS this year, and we'll see. She can't do anything BUT improve.
  7. ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gross! Stop tryingt o tell me something is GOOD! AMEN SISTA! Yes, my DD did that. She does a lot that grown men don't do. She is our little "huntress". See, if you had her with you you wouldn't have had to jump in the lake because she could have taken care of that Momma sow. :D The piggies are cute but they grow into big, menacing, crop destroying, baby deer killing PESTS.
  8. I call myself country but I fear greatly ANYTHING that stings. Flying insects and scorpions. I do a scorpion check every night before I get into bed and my DH rolls laughing. He is not the one who got 4 stings in one moment by not checking well enough. That was a RUDE awakening! I had to stand back while DD killed a wasp earlier. LOL...I would have killed it had she not been there, but she is scared of NOTHING!
  9. Y'all are cracking me up! I refuse to let go of my "country-ness". Some call it Redneck, but I only accept that as a term of endearment, not a put down. I am FAR from WT, but don't care if others think I am. SO WHAT! We only live once and I am comfortable in my skin! The other medical staff at the hospital where I work call me "country", but I promise you I have been invited to mingle with more cultures and races since embracing my country-ness than in all my prior years. I cannot tell you how many times I get asked: "Can we come visit your house sometime?" "Will you bring us some fresh killed (bacon, pork chops, deer, etc)?" They are all ABOUT my organic meat...if it was legal to sell it, I could make some cash! "How many miles from your nearest neighbor are you?" and many many more. I LOVE IT! Sometimes I have a crowd gathered at work just asking me funny questions that seem so normal to me but to others they are awe inspiring. Like when they found out my 10 year old (at the time) had harvested two hogs all on her own. Wait until they hear her latest hunting plan.
  10. Okay, I am a country music fanatic, but the Grand Ol Opry was magical for us. We bought Gold Circle Tickets in advance and it was SO COOL. The Opry Land Hotel is also a site seeing place in itself.
  11. Oh yeah...this board is more heavily trafficked than any other I have been too. Sometimes that is great. Sometimes it means some posts get overlooked. However, I have really grown to like it here in a short amount of time.
  12. for those of you looking for another family friendly board, I suggest http://www.lifeamongfriends.com I LOVE it there too
  13. My kids are loving your pics! Now they want to grow them. We live on a ranch right now, but will be moving soon. Hopefully we'll be somewhere where we can have some.
  14. That is what I use for my everyday purchases. You can get two with any of them, you just have to wait for yours to come in the mail. Takes about 7 days.
  15. I should have clarified in my post. There is no WAY I could have been homeschooled as I was in foster care, with different relatives, or a children's home for most of my childhood. What I meant was I wish *someone* could see and would have rescued me from PS. I wish I could have been homeschooled by someone who cared. Wouldn't have mattered who.
  16. My DD used a ton of internet when I thought it was blocked on her phone and her bill alone was $600. I called them, they put a block on it, and adjusted our bill. So, I would just call them, explain you wanted it changed for the next billing cycle and not previous, and get them to work it out. In my experience with Verizon, SPrint, and AT&T, they are more than willing to help and adjust your bill.
  17. Today...a day when I actually WANT to run away, anywhere would do. A nice hotel room anywhere. I don't care. I just need some solitude.
  18. THrough reading and researching, I have discovered what a disservice was done by me being allowed to move through the public school system. I was reading at age three and by Kindergarten was on a 3rd grade level. However, I got "held back" because I did not interact socially appropriate with the other kids. I went on to stay in trouble in school. When I got to 5th grade I was so uber bored, I would write "I refuse to do this" on my schoolwork and turn it in. Got held back again. Only then did my second 5th grade teacher realize "Hey, this kid is super smart". He put me in gifted classes and *surprise* I did better. By that time though, I was so soured on school that I hated it. My focus became purely social and even though I did well in school, taking all AP classes I ended up doing a lot of things (socially) that I would probably have never even thought of had I been brought home and socialized more appropriately. So, my reasons for homeschooling did not stem from any of my experiences as a child. The choice came for two reasons: I saw my children being labeled and boxed in and couldn't stand it and 2) I felt God was laying it on my heart to homeschool. Now, my decision has been confirmed because my eyes are opened about my childhood. I have went down the line and remember distinct turning points in my life that probably would have differed had I been in a different environment. WILD! Anyhow...I am glad I am able to do this for my children. I will not be saddened by my childhood. Just *wish* someone would have seen the light then and saved my education.
  19. And I find myself printing SO MUCH STUFF. I know I will be printing a lot, so that is not in question. Question is, what kind of printer and ink is the best buy in the long run?
  20. :iagree: I have an Aspie child who is hard to deal with. Yes, it appears he needs a good butt whooping but no amount of whooping would help. He is just wild. We have tried everything, and while he can be mild mannered and well behaved at times, he can also make your jaw drop. Every child is different.
  21. A LOT of work (coming from a curly with a curly dd). I straightened dd hair last week and it took me almost two hours. To do mine it take an hour. That is if it starts out dry. Takes much longer if I blow it straight and then flat iron. Like they said, product and heat. That is how you get it done.
  22. I read that one too, but I was REALLY young. Elementary. I loved the movie so I got the book.
