  1. We don't have cable. We have one of those converter boxes that the government was giving out free coupons for years back. We are able to get nbc, abc, fox, a couple weird old movie channels and some pbs channels.
  2. I'm curious about if you had the change of needing emergency surgery if you'd go to Tallahassee Memorial or Capital Medical.
  3. How terrible. Prayers for the family and for the other little one.
  4. Could a typical 7-10 year old be expected to do that? Yes Would I let mine? No I would use the family restroom or wait until we were home. We are in FL so weather is not a problem. A lot can happen in 5 min. I think it depends on the parents comfort level etc. I've has a few things *almost* happen in 5 minutes, but thank God they did not.
  5. I think if it is hard for you to get out, that person would understand the cash as opposed to the card. I agree on the $50 amount and then $50 at the end.
  6. I would not send my boy that young into a men's locker room by himself. I think that it could put him in a situation with a man who is up to no good. My oldest ds is 8 and I still wouldn't want him in there. I also wouldn't want him in the girls locker room with little girls or same age girls changing. I wouldn't think that would be at all appropriate. I take him into the women's restroom with me if we are out and someone just can't wait but I don't think that is at all the same thing. In the first situation I would suck it up and let him use the family restroom while I waited outside and then have him face the wall while his sisters changed. I would Def let the staff know. I would not have dd9 changing in front of a boy over the of 3/4.
  7. $1050 wouldn't even cover our groceries for the month! We are a family of 7 and live off of about $500 a month for groceries :/.
  8. I like the freedom thing and joyful thing. I don't like any of the titles mentioned in the poll. The best I could come up with a this time of night was "out with the old, no need for the new" or "the clutter free life"
  9. Anyone see the Chef Ramsey kid cooking show? Wow, lol. I'm amazed at what those kids can do. My 9 yr old makes cookies and can do things on the stove top but we don't have a gas stove.
  10. Thank you! I'm not on facebook, but I'm thinking I may have to get on it just for the kids, lol.
  11. I am curious what curriculum was used, if I may ask and if you remember :)
  12. I had my first two 11 months apart and then another one two yrs later (so I had my dd who just turned 3 and my ds who just turned 2 and a newborn). It was actually great! Then I had two 18 months apart after that. That was really hard because I had older ones and the responsibility of school verse caring for little ones etc. I put the infant seat in the middle and the toddler seat on the side. I actually liked the 11 month apart age difference and hated the 18 month age difference. Maybe it just depends on the child because my ones that are 2 years apart were fine as well. As far as diapers look into cloth diapers. ETA- I am rethinking this and think that I had the baby seat on one end and the toddler seat on the other. Then when there were three of them back there I think I still had the baby seat on the end and a toddler in the middle and another one on the end.
  13. Thank you! I do know about Heri and the zoo homeschool classes. I'm hoping to find a group that has field trips, maybe park days or holiday parties :). It would be nice to find something fun and laid back.
  14. Hi! We are moving back to Jacksonville soon and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share info on homeschooling groups in the area (either on here or through a message). I had a really hard time finding anything when I first started homeschooling in Jacksonville. I have a 4th, 3rd and 1st grader with 2 little ones who would tag along. Thank you!
  15. :) We are in a rental now and I've never heard footsteps but I've heard whispering several times since I've been here. It is like a kids voice saying "mom". I've always thought it was my kids and gotten up and looked around...nothing. It doesn't help that the first few weeks we were here my 6 yr old would wake up screaming at night. One night I went in there and she started pointing behind me and freaking me out and I was yelling what? What? She goes "It's a boy." Ahhh! I guess I won't be sleeping tonight.
  16. Yes, this sounds like what I am experiencing as well. My son who just turned 13 months literally hasn't slept since he was born. I'm really hoping it is only related to that.
  17. I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but I've been having pain off and on in my left eye. I'm not sure as I would describe it as the white of my eye, the whole eye, behind my eye etc. I have severe anxiety when it comes to anything medical, so I'm trying not to search on Google etc. Lol I am hoping it is allergies. It also seems to happen if I'm really low on sleep or drink caffeine. I went to the eye Dr about 8 yes ago for a different problem and he said it was prob because I was sleeping with my eye open or not sleeping enough.
  18. If you have used it what we're your thoughts? Did you continue to use it through high school? My oldest is a couple years away, but what we are doing now is based on her starting Omnibus in 7th. I thought I should start looking at it more in depth. We would just be doing it on our own and not using their online courses.
  19. I love McRuffy K's LA. It is great for practicing short vowel/long vowel words etc. When they are reading those easily, I like to move on to Abeka 1st grade.
  20. Maybe check out Notgrass Exploring America
  21. Hugs to you! I had my 5th csection in 8 years last December...I guess the December before last (2014). It was a long recovery as far as pain. I begged my Dr for more pain meds and he gave them to me until I think I was 6 or 7 weeks out. I took nothing after my first two sections so that was saying something. I don't remember exactly but I'd say I was at least 3 months out or longer before the pain disappeared. I was going to end up going to a pain management dr. I didn't deal with an infection or any complications either. I wouldn't think that would help. I would definitely let your dr know, but it could just be taking you longer to recover. Take it as easy as you can. I didn't get out with the kids for a while after my last csection and did as little as possible.
