  1. I usually waste time watching youtube videos of Ellen or Jimmy Fallon when I'm sick in bed. Have you seen the lip syncing video with Jimmy and Emma Stone? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bLBSoC_2IY8&feature=kp Hope you feel better soon!
  2. I agree with everyone else. The hotel is already doing you a favor by sending the pillowcase. Asking them to price compare and take time to go to the post office seems too much. I would be appalled to pay that much as well, but I would consider it my fault for forgetting in the first place.
  3. No definitely not. You can set your account to do that or you can just push the Facebook button when you want to share it to Facebook. I only share about half of my Instagram photos on Facebook.
  4. Organic foods cannot be genetically modified.
  5. After reading your back story with this lady I wouldn't hire her back. There is no point in having someone come clean, even if it is less of the house when they are not doing a thorough job and that was your biggest issue before from what I read. Move on and find someone who you won't have to remind and watch. I can't believe she was taking 3 hours on a house as big as yours, she must have really been cutting corners!
  6. It is definitely cheapest not to use subs, especially flour mixes are expensive. Buy your own supplies and make your own. Corn tortillas are cheap, eating at Mexican places is generally safe. Olive Garden now has gluten free pasta and PF Chang's has a great gluten free menu. You can get most hamburgers lettuce wrapped without a bun and that is safe.
  7. I do not have any teenage kids but I've helped teach two of my sisters to drive and I would say no way. MAYBE if he had his own car, but I live in California and we do not have ways to go around cities and driving in the cities is way different than outside of them. My sister is 18 and is not allowed to drive my parents car in LA, although she drives it in larger cities closer to where we live. And if he has never driven that long before, let alone by himself, he has no idea what he is getting himself into!
  8. I've already bought some gifts and I love planning for Christmas! My kids' birthdays are Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve though so it is necessary to plan ahead.
  9. I'm in love with Clara Estelle (I'm 28 weeks along with a girl) but DH doesn't like Clara. I'll be watching this thread!
  10. Yes, Liz, that is season 4. They are currently filming season 5.
  11. I have no idea... My DH is 31 and I am 26 so we have a ways to go and as my DH is self-employed anything we save we'll have to save ourselves. Right now our goal is to have our house paid off in 8 years minimum (which will be 13 total) and then we'll have much more money to work with. At that time we'll probably start to save and travel more, our kids will be 13, 11 and 8 so a good age to do that. We would also like to do some longish term missions trips as a family at that point as well.
  12. I slept in and now am helping DH texture out master bath (Finally! We're remodeling it ourselves). I have peach ice cream to freeze, a couple loads of laundry to do and then I'll probably relax the rest of the day. Hjffkj I will be praying for you!
  13. I am so glad you were able to make some memories with baby Joey and I will keep you in my prayers. I am so sorry.
  14. I have a Blendtec and love it. I use it daily at minimum and it works so much better than anything else I've ever tried. Vitamix's are good too, it just depends on personal preference. I prefer the more automatic settings of the Blendtec. And like pp said the plastic on these is very durable and berries or whatever does not stain them.
  15. I don't know your price point but the Embassy Suites in Oxnard is right on the beach and has an amazing made to order omelette breakfast. It is not a "new" hotel but is kept up well and the grounds are beautiful!
  16. Aden + Anais swaddling blankets... Even if she had them for her first they are really popular right now and for good reason. They are soft, super cute and so versatile! (And lightweight so great for summer)
  17. They did make it so that Jonas is supposed to be 16, not 12 and Lois Lowry did have a lot to do with the script and approved changes they made. I loved the book when I was younger and while I am looking forward to the movie I am not expecting it to be much like the book.
  18. You can get dehydrated grains from Cultures for Health (don't order off amazon though sometimes they aren't authentic). It comes with directions on how to rehydrate them and use them and there is a lot of good info on their site. Milk kefir is pretty simple to make thankfully!
  19. My kids aren't there yet, but I was the eldest of 5 and didn't get paid for watching my siblings, nor did I expect it. Once I got older and my parents went for weekends away they would sometimes give me $100 when they got home, but it didn't happen every time and it was always a surprise.
  20. I do not live in South America but I went to Argentina 7 years ago and met a couple families who were homeschooling at that time. I do not believe it was illegal then, although it was very culturally unusual.
  21. Our closest IKEA is three hours away but I often plan into our vacations a trip there. We visit at least once a year and I love it. I wouldn't say it is a tourist attraction but it is a great place to shop!
  22. Poppy, Costco does. Although I wouldn't do it their return policy is so lenient I once had a person in front of me return a DVD player he had had for over a year and used (it wasn't even in the packaging, he just brought the player and the cord) and had decided he just "didn't want it anymore." They took it back without a word and I could hardly believe he had the gall to do something like that!!
  23. My house is almost always presentable enough for guests, unless I'm in the middle of a huge reorganizing project or something. It isn't perfect by any means but I don't let stuff build up too much generally cause then then I cannot function. As for me, no... If you came over before 10:30 I'm probably still in my pajamas. :P I can get dressed very fast though and I don't wear makeup or do my hair fancy so people rarely see me "unpresentable." I'm trying to get better about getting dressed right when I get up and such but I'm lazy.

My parents had the same rules when I was growing up. I did feel left out at times or like I was missing out, but now I can see the logic behind their reasons and do the same with my kids.
  25. It is probably too young for teens, but I found the Buck Denver 'What's in the Bible' series very interesting as they talked about those topics.
