  1. Kate told Sawyer, quite clearly, that she was not pregnant. But she did ask him if it would have been so terrible if she had been pregnant. She was also careful not to sleep with him again.
  2. I don't think that he knows. I don't remember them ever showing introductions or explainations. If fact, I didn't remember until you mentioned it. Do you think the writers remember?
  3. Wasn't there some weird prophesy about Claire's baby? Something about not letting him live because he would cause the end of the world or something strange like that??
  4. What is the best dose? It doesn't sound like I want to take more than I need to because of the taste. :p
  5. Maybe there is a difference between girls and boys.... My youngest ds is a newly turned 3 year old. Sometimes he will go do something on his own but more often he wants his brothers attention. I try to have one boy play with him while the other boy schools then we change positions. Next year I'm planning on sending him to preschool 2 days a week so that I can have some good consistant time with his older brothers who are 8 and 10 and so that he can play with children his own age.
  6. So very cute. I dreamed about horses all the time when I was younger. She looks like she is going to be horse crazy her whole life as well. Enjoy! :)
  7. Is it a whole chicken or cut up chicken pieces? With a whole chicken, I put it in the crock pot with chicken broth, garlic, cut up onion, and basil. I will cook all day on low then debone it (the chicken just falls off the bones), serve with veggies and stuffing. Leftover chicken becomes chicken pot pie the next day.
  8. Bureaucracy is never fun to deal with. :( You can take a little comfort in knowing how hard you are working for your kids and how much they appreciate it. :)
  9. We buy the Aldi brand toilet paper. They have 2 different kinds and so I get the one-ply in double rolls. It lasts the longest and works well, not super soft though.
  10. Congratulations!!! I agree with Jessica, I could use some pink girly stuff in my life and new baby pictures would fit the bill. :)
  11. We're the opposite. I'd be in the first group but my husband is in the last. We were thinking about trying to go to Disney in September so that may be a great time to get the money. :D
  12. I believe we saw that shooting star too!!! My middle one said, "Hey mom did you see that shotting star?" The oldest missed it. It was a very cold (6 degrees) but clear night out here. We had to limit our time to a couple of minutes outside then 10-15 minutes inside before heading back out to check the progress.
  13. We stayed up to watch the eclipse and I think the boys got a little out of it. I'm sure that they would have learned a bit more if we had already been doing a study of the planets and their paths around the sun. It was sooooo cold, 6 degrees, but clear. We kept going in and out of the house every 15 minutes to check out the progress. Overall a fun experience and experiment for the family.
  14. I didn't take a language until high school and I didn't die BUT I wish that I could have started earlier and learned more. Because of my own desire of language aquisition, I found a small class (4 students) for my 2 dss to learn Spanish. Like the other posters, just start up again and again if you need to. Each time you will get a little further and perhaps surprise yourself with how much you have all learned.
  15. I laughed so hard!!! :D Thanks for the link. :)
  16. Why does your sister think that wood is SO HARD to take care of? We had old wood floors (60 years old) that we had refinished. I just washed them with Murphy Oil Soap once a week or so. You do need to dust them regularly if you have animals because the hair will just float around. I didn't think they were hard to take care of at all but this was also pre-children.
  17. He is supportive but not involved. I'm not sure that I would say that he is even 100% supportive. My dh worries about our first-born not being where he should be for his age. He is slightly behind but I think that he would be behind in school as well plus beat up emotionally. Ds2 is ahead of schedule. Different boys and different issues.
  18. If it begins at 10:26 est does that mean it will happen at 9:26 cst here near Chicago?
  19. Make Lefse. :p Yummmmmm! It is a Norwegian flat bread that my grandma used to make once a year. Boy do I miss it and her. :)
  20. In Gurnee Mills near where I live, they have taken out all of the pay phones. The pay phone was even taken out of Kohl's where I work one day a week. If you don't have a cell phone, you are out of luck!!
  21. What is the alternate program? They said that they were looking into different ideas but didn't have anything at this time. Do you like the alternate program?? Also the same librarian said that you can only download the Rosetta Stone that you purchase one time. Is that true? Has anyone, who has purchased Rosetta Stone used, have a problem with it?
  22. Our computer has been acting weird off and on for a while now and we weren't able to access Rosetta Stone through the library. I went to try something new today and couldn't find the link on our library's web-site. I called to ask and they said that Rosetta Stone has quit offering libraries access to their program. Does anyone still have access through their library? Or is it true that it has been yanked from everyone?
  23. I understand the frustration. My brand new 3 yods gets into more things than his two older brothers did combined. Last night he grabbed the pine wood durby car that my husband had painted an hour earlier and had been told not to touch. This morning he pulled down his pants and peed on the floor. He also picked up his chocolate milk, that he is only supposed to drink at the table, and accidently spilled it all over the living room floor. The little ones need a lot of supervision. It is important to tell the difference between willful disobedience and exploration. Sometimes it is hard to tell in the heat of the moment but it doesn't sound like your daughter was being willfully disobedient. She was exploring and playing quietly by herself. It also sounds like you need to figure out how to get her to stay with you or an older sibling or keep her confined to a stoller even if she screamed about it. It would be scary to loose a child because of their wondering.
  24. My 10 yods likes Lost. Most of the time I don't mind but some of the more explicit scenes had me uneasy.
