  1. It is raining quite hard this Sunday morning. I heard that it will turn to ice a bit later then snow. This has been the longest winter that we have had in quite some time and I'm ready for it to be OVER. My Aunt lives in Southern Illinois, almost Kentucky, and she said that the Ohio river was already quite high and they are talking about closing the flood gates and it is only February. My guess is that the rain we are getting is not going to help.
  2. That is awfully short. Our library holds books for a week. They definately need to inform their employees of the policies. Yikes!
  3. I have 4 good friends. All of them have been friends of mine for over 10 years. I think good friends are friends that you can tell anything to, you know that the information will not be shared, and you know that you are accepted and loved no matter what. One of those good friends I only see once maybe twice a year if I'm lucky but we fall into step with each other the moment we see or talk to the other. Those are my good friends and I also have friends which I call aquaintence friends. I am more guarded with them but yet we have fun and can talk about our lives just not the deep stuff.
  4. I agree Pitocin is the worst!!! Praying that you have a nice and quick delivery, but not too quick, with a healthy baby girl at the end of it all.
  5. I'm actually somewhere between the cell phone being for emergencies and my friend. I use it but not loads and I'm not hands free.
  6. I did not see the 20/20 segment but I did see a Body Works II exhibit when it came to the Museum of Science and Industry. It was fascinating! They had places for you to donate your body and I thought that they mentioned that all the bodies had been donated. Hmmmm It would be interesting to know for sure. On one hand it is disturbing that they didn't know where the bodies came from so you don't know if the families are left hanging - not knowing what happened to their loved ones. This of course is a worse case senario. Actually this thought is very disturbing. If it isn't the worse case senerio, my thought is that once you are dead you don't need the body any longer so if it helps someone else.... I sure do hope that the bodies weren't donated against their wishes.
  7. Tell your daughter thank you for thinking to donate her hair. My niece, while she didn't use a wig, had leukemia when she was 3 and lost all her hair. I know that had she been older she would have loved to have a wig. I'm sure that the loss of hair was quite a shock for your poor dh. Please do the before and after picures. I'm sure that she looks adorable!!! :)
  8. Yes, wasn't that a bit bizzare. I think that he should have given back all the money since he stole the wad he found in the vent.
  9. How wonderful! Congratulation! It's so fulfilling to be recognized for doing a great job and rewarded for it!!! :)
  10. I like the fact that they had those pop-ups on last weeks episode. I missed last week's show and didn't watch it on the computer, thus the pop-ups gave me a lot more insight. Whoever mentioned the CS Lewis connection last week seems to be right on the money then the time difference.... Well we must be in a different "world". Who else is one of the six????
  11. I'm guessing lurkers but can't you lurk without joining?? I know that I lurked for a couple of months at a Guinea Pig sight before I joined and posted.
  12. My brother is/was freaking out as he just graduated from there this past summer. He has friends that still attend and is worried about them. I know that at least one if not 2 or three people from our church who attend NIU. Praying for that community.
  13. One of my best friends is celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary today!!!! Happy Anniversary to all who are celebrating today!!! :D
  14. Yikes!!!! That was scarily fast. I'm getting my second mamogram at 42. I was supposed to go back six months later but it has been a year. I didn't realize that breast cancer could move/change so fast. I'm so sorry about your mom and the speed at which she left you all! :(
  15. Did you see that we have more snow on the way and perhaps a big one depending on how the front comes through? I was surprised when I heard on the news that we, Northern Illinois - near the WI boarder, have had over 5 feet of snow this season. It has been crazy this year!
  16. I don't! In fact tomorrow night my husband won't even be home. He has to work than go to class. I might see him at 10:30 pm if I'm still up.
  17. I'm sorry. Praying that she will make it. Her situation is a reminder to enjoy our loved ones and each day that we are given.
  18. Last year or was it the year before Luke and Laura got married again on GH. Felicia came back for a short time last month as well as Anna and Robert Scorpio last year for Luke and Laura's wedding. On AMC Angie and Jessie returned. They had advertisements for that during primetime.
  19. My mother just has them in pots in her kitchenette area so they are like any other potted plant that you would have in your house. They along with most of her house plants go outside in the summer. She doesn't seem to do anything special with them other then give them a bit of fertalizer ever so often.
  20. I don't think that your situation is the same as the OPs. You didn't loose them and your not asking your friend to make copies for you. I think the OP should call Focus on the Family. I wouldn't be surprised if they said that she could do it just because she asked. Of course they might not say yes then the moral dilema is solved but it may not be what the OP's hoping to hear.
  21. My boys thought these were so funny. I'm glad that they are fakes, at the same though, part of me says how cool.....
  22. I do the same thing as Jennifer. I keep the lone sock and match it with another whose mate has developed a hole. I think that it helps that I have only boys so they have either white or black socks and they are all the same type.
  23. My mom has several amaryllis bulbs. They bloom once a year but hers bloom at different times. One is blooming right now. Last spring one bloomed and one bloomed during the summer. All 4 or 5 of her bulbs came from the one original plant that she was given years ago.
