I had a person who I used for a long time but then she moved and it was too far to drive. I tried one person for awhile about 4 cuts until I learned about a woman in my church who cuts hair for $15 out of her home. Styling the hair is extra. I've used her once so far and I liked the cut. She may be my new regular.

I was just watching a few minutes of the Brady Bunch the other day. Sam was a great character made especially for Alice.... -

I have to admit that I haven't had anyone over in quite some time because of the state of my house. Everything is neater in the summer when I can push the boys outside and when they aren't involved with as many things in the afternoons. I'm soooooo tired out by everything that should be done. -
More home hair color questions . . .
Elisabeth in IL replied to BamaTanya's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I color every 6 weeks. I'm about 30% white, not really gray. If I do just the roots, I seem to get bands of color horizontally around my head so I do my whole head at least every other time if not every time. If it starts hurting my hair, I may have to rethink my coloring schedule. -

Yes, It stinks. I've alway run it at night (don't know if this is recommended or not) so that I don't have to smell the bad smell all day long. -

We're still waiting for most of our forms. Once they get here, I'll lock myself away and get them done. I'm hoping for a good return as I just crashed our car because of the snow.

reason I posted a pole about changing sheets
Elisabeth in IL replied to Mary H's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I couldn't find the pole but I change my sheets every 2 to 3 weeks. I'd like to change them more often because I'm told that is the thing to do but I don't have the time...... 5 beds makes a lot of laundry plus everything else. -
It's no wonder I can't lose weight...

It's Jennifer Garner who is an actress and married to Ben Afleck. I'm sure that you do not live under a rock, you just don't live in front of your TV. :) -

Elisabeth in IL replied to Jennifer's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I'm a little scared to post my numbers and see them in black and white but I'm in because I NEED to loose weight. I'm 5' 8 1/2" tall and currently 235 and Goal is 160 by the end of year. Gosh, that is 75 pounds. When I think of all the bags of potatoes that I'm carrying around...... -
Someone rang our doorbell at 11 p.m.

Yes, you did the right thing! I'm glad the police called you back so that you could rest a little easier. By calling the police, you did what he wanted you to do anyway. -
Someday in my future dream home, I'm going to have a library. The room is going to have those large almost floor to ceiling windows, giant bookshelves inbetween those large windows, a fireplace and a hidden window seat! I'll have plenty of room for all my books and even more. What a beautiful dream!!!!!!!!!!:p

I wish that I would have investigated these eariler. My oldest is 10 and is now being tutored in reading. I don't know if these would have helped him enough to prevent the need for tutoring but they are solidifying his phonics rules.

Hi, I'm Elisabeth in IL. I have three ds who are 10, 8, and 3. I read TWTM back when my oldest was 4. Since reading Susan's book and talking to some friends about Classical education, it is what I've wanted for my boys. I've been disappointed that is hasn't turned out the way that I imagined it would but I'm confident that each boy is getting what he needs at the moment. Maybe someday we will get to the independent and lover of learning stage or maybe my boys (mostly the eldest) will always have to be pushed, pulled and hand held. I love them all! :D

Shannon your daughter's amazement at an ice cube tray cracked me up. It reminded me of last fall when we purchased a small Chevy Metro to get my husband to and from work. My one son called it a van and my other one said, "hey, look at these, you turn them and the window goes up and down." I guess we haven't had anything other than electric windows in our vehicles. :D
