  1. Michael is leaving the show? No way..... My huz is going to be devastated.:tongue_smilie:
  2. We are driving to Death Valley for the weekend to see all of the flowers in bloom. They only last for 4-6 weeks each season and we're looking forward to the sunny weather and lots of nature walks.
  3. Okay, I thought about it for a minute (forgive me if this is a repeat as I didn't read through the entire thread). How about Heritage Christian Academy or Heritage Classical Christian Academy. You are attempting to impart a Christian heritage to your children and leave them with a legacy of Jesus. Just a thought.
  4. Um, not that I know anyone with this name *ahem*, but what if your last name was Cheater? Cheater Classical Christian Academy:lol:
  5. I would make her meals and freeze them in individual portions so all she has to do is "heat and serve" when she gets hungry. Be mindful and have a cheerful heart if she needs an unexpected ride somewhere and you have a million things to do and not enough time to do them in. If she's the type that always kept her car neat and clean I would also scrape out the stale french fries from under the seat before you pick her up.:D What a wonderful blessing. I hope you enjoy your new ride!!
  6. You can give the customer service section of the state tax office a call. They should be able to answer your questions. Customer Services Section P.O. Box 1115 Richmond, VA 23218-1115 (804) 367-8031 Forms: (804) 367-8055 Also, here is a link to the Virginia state income tax law. This is what it says: Residency Issues for Persons Living Abroad If you are a Virginia resident who accepts employment in another country or moves outside the United States for other reasons (including military orders), the fact that you are living abroad does not mean that you are no longer considered a Virginia resident for tax purposes. Unless you have established residency in another state, you will still be considered a domiciliary resident of Virginia, and will be required to file Virginia income tax returns. A domiciliary resident of Virginia is one whose legal domicile in the technical sense is in Virginia. Unless an individual acquires a legal domicile in another state, he or she is still a Virginia resident. This applies even if the person is residing in another jurisdiction and may have been residing there for a number of years. The fact that a person has been absent from Virginia, whether in the foreign service of the United States or in the exercise of private enterprise, does not in any way cancel out their Virginia citizenship or legal domicile. As a matter of law, he or she is as much liable to income taxation in Virginia as residents who are physically present in Virginia throughout the year. Every resident of Virginia, including domiciliary residents, is liable to State income taxation as a resident. This means that they are subject to Virginia income tax on their entire income, whether it came from sources in or outside of Virginia. Those persons qualifying to exclude certain foreign income from their federal returns in accordance with Section 911 of the Internal Revenue Code will receive the same exclusion on their Virginia returns. 7. Oh, and bring several umbrellas... you're going during the rainy season.
  8. Just emailed you a rather long disjointed email... :D Have fun!! BTW, if you do stop by Crystal bags I would love a pink Prada. :D
  9. Skissugar, If you'd like to PM me your email address (or phone number) I would be more than happy to shoot you some info. We just PCS'd from Osan back to the US last year. I've got a ton of links I could send you. It's easier for me to give you verbal directions on where you need to go. We loved our time there... our DC keep asking to go back.... you're going to love it there!!
  10. Danybug, I love pink!! I'm a total girly girl.:001_smile:
  11. You have to admit it is kind of funny.:D The other night my DD said, "Mom, I can really tell you've lost some weight." Me: "Wow, really sweetie?" DD: "Yep, you now only have two rolls of fat on your belly instead of three." Me: "Um, thanks?"
  12. As a general rule the inside of the mouth isn't stitched unless the edges of the laceration are jagged and will cause facial scarring. If there is a delay in seeking medical care we usually won't stitch either because the risk of infection increases.
  13. Voted again.... I hope he continues to win? How many more levels will he have if he wins this one?
  14. This is awesome! Thanks for sharing the link.:001_smile:
  15. I'm a bit of an over planner sometimes and have to remind myself that I create and rule our schedule, and the schedule doesn't rule me. Having said that I do plan everything out a year in advance. I like to see exactly where we are on any given day and how much we have left to accomplish before the end of the year. We homeschool some years and private school others. Like you, our dc are in private school this year but will likely come home next year again. I do try to work in a couple of "light" weeks into our schedule to allow time for the kids to have some delight driven studies if we stumble across something super interesting in our curriculum. Plus, my dh is in the military so we enjoy the flexibility of not doing school when he is able to be home with us. For me, having a daily snapshot of where we are and where we need to go on any given day for our school year is extremely helpful.
  16. We have used CLE and love it! Having said that both of my DC are in private school this year and are using saxon math. We are contemplating pulling them out and homeschooling again next year... if we do, we'll stick with saxon. They don't seem to mind the curriculum and are learning tons of math. It might help you to figure out if you want a mastery method or spiral method and then go from there.
  17. Hmmm, well when you find yours let me know where it's hiding. I've been looking for mine since January.
  18. Well, hi there! I used to live in Prattville but moved several years ago. I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, so I'll be leaving now.:D Have fun with your family!!
  19. I'm also a sorter... but I'm not going to worry that I have a problem until I start to color code them as well.:D
