  1. I hemmmed and hawwed over ordering it but finally did early last week! I can't wait! I got it for my preschooler and kindergartner and my fourth grader and my eighth grader. I have five children so at least I can use all the levels for the kids coming up.
  2. Has anyone used/tried both? If so, which one did you like better and why?
  3. I'm such a newb and trying to learn about different curricula but it is so hard to decipher what some of them are based on the acronyms most of you use when you post. Is there someplace on this board that has a key for all of these abbreviations? Thanks in advance!
  4. I started giving my two boys the Singapore placement tests last night. They haven't finished yet but so far they are doing well. My kindergartner is currently being taught Saxon Math level 1 and my third grader is being taught Saxon Math level 4. I called Saxon and the level I would need to purchase for my Kindergartner (first grader once we start homeschooling) would be Saxon Math 2 and my newly fourth grader would apparently be Saxon Math 65 after completing level 4. I'm concerned about what some of you are saying about how long the Saxon lessons take. I have five children and four will be home while I'm homeschooling. The younger two are 4 and 18 months so I'm not sure how well Saxon will work even though they are doing well. Both boys are good mathmeticians and really enjoy math. I'm not sure if my wiggly boys are going to sit still for an hour long math lesson. Can those of you using Math Mammoth and Singapore tell me about how long the lessons take?
  5. Thanks for all of your replies! I have a lot to mull over.
  6. My children are currently in a private school but we are pulling them out to homeschool after the school year is over. The school uses Saxon Math and I was planning on continuing with that curriculum. After doing some reading I'm starting to wonder if perhaps a different curriculum may be better. I definitely want a rigorous program as math is my boys strong suit. If you have a favorite math program can you tell me which one and why you like it? :lurk5:
