  1. Our 3+ faves so far: FLL WWE SOTW ETC Singapore Math
  2. Due to a very unfortunate event with a jeweler, I no longer have my original engagement ring and wedding band. I was devastated and thought I wouldn't want anything else. After a long time passed, DH took me out several times to look for something new but I never found anything I liked. Looking back, I think my heart just wasn't into shopping for a new one yet. I just wanted my originals. A couple of years later, we found a ring that I fell in love with only to find out it was way out of our budget. That ring set me on the right path though. So fast forward a couple of years after that, and I was finally ready to work on a new ring set. It took a lot of research and time, but I ended up with rings that I love and they make me smile each time I look at them. So what I'm trying to say is, take your time and don't let anyone influence your decision. You'll know it's right when you see it or when the idea comes to you.
  3. I use an app for ipad called Pocket Informant. I am able to sync to the cloud and our google calendar so that DH has access to it as well. Each person is a different color. I haven't heard of Timetable but it looks interesting. Is it an app for ipad or the computer?
  4. :iagree: Although I don't agree with DST, I can't imagine having my household on a different time that the world outside our door. That would be a scheduling nightmare on a daily basis for me.
  5. We use a variety of materials to solidify concepts. Our current lineup looks a little like this: DD: Singapore as the spine, MM for review, cuisenaire rods ala Miquon, and AL Abacus activities from Righstart DS: Singapore spine, MM review, cuisenaire rods, Keys to Fractions for review, and we'll add Life of Fred over the summer.
  6.:lol::lol::lol::lol: I'm laughing so hard at this one! Good thing my family is outside right now or they might think I've finally cracked.
  7. Yes, we have a large magnetic white board 4x6. This is our main board that we use daily and love it! We also have two 2x3 magnetic white boards for each of the kids to use for spelling. Each child also has a small lap size white board to use whenever they wish for things like math problems, spelling words, or just doodling. I don't know what I would do without white boards. I shudder thinking about all the dust from a chalkboard. My dream is to one day have a smart board.
  8. This sounds like an interesting article. I'll see if I can find it. Off to look...
  9. We have a Spanish tutor coming to our home twice a week. She charges $35 an hour for adults and $40 an hour for kids. Each child gets 30 minutes of private instruction and I have an hour. So our total for each week is $150. HTH!
  10.:lol: Or they might ask you to use a party-line phone. My DD would think that it must be the best phone ever since it has the word "party" in it. :tongue_smilie:
  11. I've never seed a poster either. We're currently using GDI and there is a page in each workbook that has the entire alphabet printed. Perhaps you could enlarge one of those?
  12. I buy eggs from a local farmer each week and he charges $4 a dozen. There is a huge difference in taste, to me, between typical mass produced and free-range local eggs. If I'm really lucky I'll get them from one of my friends that has hens and is nice enough to share their surplus! :D
