  1. Yeah, I know, it's a weird title but it is true! My baby girl is 2.5yo and is very small, like just over 20lbs and wears size 18 months clothes (although she is leaning towards 2T finally). She potty trained at 18 months and I can NOT find panties to fit her little tiny bum!!!!! I have searched every store in the whole country of Malaysia! Now I am in the U.S. and I still can't find any small enough. The smallest ones I found at Target are about 3 times too big! Anyone else have a tiny toddler and found panties to fit her? The ones she has now are so baggy it is ridiculous. :glare:
  2. Well does it cheer you up at all to know that we are practically counting the minutes until we meet you? :D
  3. We flew Delta last week but we have passports for all the kids.

  5. Definitely cat. I have owned 3 cats, 1 guinea pig, and 1 rabbit. The guinea pig and rabbit did not make good pets but the cats were all awesome.
  6. On the international legs of our flight...yes. On then US leg, no.
  7. Oh yeah, that's right... My baby girl!!!! It only took 2.5 years of paperwork, lawyers, multiple trips to the embassy in KL, obscene amounts of money, and a VERY LONG plane ride to America. :glare: But we arrived safe and sound and got through immigration without any problems thanks to the mountain of paperwork we brought with us (although Malaysian customs officers almost didn't let us leave with her!). She did such a great job on the airplane and didn't cry once! We did end up bringing the car seat and were SO GLAD we did. Even though it was a pain to lug around, she slept so well in it. It was a lifesaver. So we are recovering from jet lag which is BRUTAL and visiting with friends and family. Everyone is absolutely smitten with our little princess. :D Our boys are busy eating their way through their summer bucket list. Taco Bell, Jets Pizza, and tonight we hit a Mexican restaurant. I can't wait for our trip to see Mariann and her family in DC! And I want to thank all of you for listening to me vent and whine and vent some more about this whole immigration process. Your support made a HUGE difference in my life. :grouphug: .
  8. I am posting from the airport in Tokyo!!! That is how determined I am to keep going with this!!! :tongue_smilie: This week... 9. Yes. I was supposed to get an good education, have a career I love, a good husband and wonderful children and I did exactly that. I don't think Malaysia was ever in their minds though. :D
  10. Correlation does not equal causation. There could be a million different reasons why he has slacked on his school work or started losing things. He is 14. He is going through puberty. His hormones are wonky. Give the kid a break. Try to figure out what is going on with him but I would be VERY surprised if he is failing in his school work SOLELY because of m@sturbation.
  11. Sure you do. You just don't know it. I am sure there are plenty of people on this board that would say they qualify.... Ahem...
  12. Well, I am no expert but I have 2 brothers, a husband, and 2 sons... My brother once said in a joking manner that 98% of all males have engaged in that behavior and the other 2% don't have hands. :tongue_smilie: But I honestly think there is some truth to that. I am not sure how m@sturbation ruins a marriage unless it is done in conjunction with porn (in which case, porn is the root of the issue, not m@sturbation) or if a dh prefers that to sex with his wife (which my dh says is unlikely since for a man even bad sex is good sex and self-pleasuring does not feel as good as the real thing). So in a nutshell, they all do it at some point. Not much you can do to stop it, and making him feel guilty about it will hurt his future marriage more than not saying anything. Now, if you check his Internet history and porn sites pop up, you need to have a discussion. .
  13. I was a voracious reader as a child and still am. My oldest doesn't love reading but he will read now and then. My youngest ds loves reading. I hope dd will be a book lover!
  14. We started using it in our family when we moved here to describe the "Malaysian" way of life. Like businesses that open at 9... ish (meaning, really, whenever they want) and is it illegal to turn on a red light? ish (meaning technically yes, but no one obeys ANY traffic laws here) and prices on anything are definitely an "ish" since you can haggle them down even at the mall! and sanitary levels are definitely an "ish" as in "clean-ish" since they wash and reuse drinking straws in restaurants here. I could go on and on but ISH describes our lives here! :tongue_smilie: .
  15. It means you will pay your own salary by the funds you bring in. It is fairly common in development as well as grant writer positions. It is a lot of pressure though. Essentially, if you do not "earn your keep" you are out.
  16. Oh my goodness... We are so excited we can barely stand it! We get on a plane in only 4 more days!!!!!!! .
  17. My 14yo ds drinks a cup of coffee with me every morning. But he never drinks soda so I am ok with it. :D
  18. OK, I have been looking online and researching and what-not and here is our very tentative DC-sight-seeing plan. Tell me if you think it is realistic at all (keeping in mind that I know a person could spend entire days at most of these places but I have a 2yo and an 8yo with the attention span of a gnat!). July 2nd- arrive at Mariann's early afternoon (YEAH!!!!), go on "monuments by moonlight" tour from 7:30-10pm (apparently we pick this up at union station?) July 3rd- National Archives in the morning, lunch, then the Capitol Bldg in the afternoon (maybe stopping by Library of Congress if there is time) July 4th- Mount Vernon during the day then heading over to the Mall for the fireworks July 5th- Air and Space Museum in the morning, lunch, Spy Museum in the afternoon July 6th- American History Museum in the morning, lunch, Natural History Museum in the Afternoon July 7th- Depart early in the morning Any tips on using the metro? pssst... Mariann, I PM'd you! .
