  1. I like this one http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/sl-fashions-dress-sleeveless-pleated-skirt-party?ID=708107&CategoryID=5449#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D1299%26ruleId%3D65%26slotId%3Drec(7) And I would wear a velvet wrap with it. I love dressing up!
  2. :iagree::iagree::iagree: Great. Now I'm hungry.
  3. I can quote every single line from that movie. :D John Hughes was the best! Detention at my school is not sitting in a room. It is a few hours of hard, physical labor under the supervision of the facilities director. In public schools, bullying like that and far worse is alive and well. And there are still the popular kids, the jocks, the stoners, the band geeks, emos, etc. Not much has really changed. .
  4. Chicken parmesan with a side of spaghetti and broccoli. Linguine with white clam sauce (my family would eat this every day if I would let them). My casual dish that all my friends and family ask me to make for every occasion is my white chicken chili.
  5. As long as hair dye is available, I will never go gray. :D .
  6. I have a teeny tiny washer which is the norm in this country. It can do a load about one third the size of an American washer. It has no hot water to it and no agitator in the center. I hate it. We line dry everything then put it all in the dryer for 10 minutes to fluff it. We do this because electricity is outrageously expensive here. .
  7. Lukas is not the "normal" spelling. Lucas is the normal spelling. My maiden name had a silent letter and was always misspelled and/or mispronounced including at my college graduation ceremony! Now my married name sounds normal but has a silent letter and is always misspelled. It's just life. You chose an alternate spelling for your child and he will spend his life correcting people. It's just how it goes. Now, as to your family member... It sounds like there is a much bigger issue going on than just spellings of names here. You suspect the person doesn't like you but if the only way this comes out is in her misspelling of your name and your child's name, then pointing it out will make you look petty because she can always feign innocence. But if it is also coming out in other ways, then you need to address the real issue with her, whatever that is. .
  8. Dh-Saturday Me-Thursday Ds-Wednesday Ds- Friday Dd-Saturday I guess we are oddballs! :tongue_smilie: .
  9. Halloween is not celebrated in Malaysia although it is starting to pop up here and there on this island since there are so many expats. They are doing the same thing with thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc... Catering to the North Americans. They definitely know how to make money off of us! :D .
  10. I actually figured it! I can't believe it!!! I found the other forum. :tongue_smilie: Now I need brain bleach. Good golly Miss Molly. My own IQ dropped several points from reading that thread. It's like "Deliverance" but with homeschoolers. :svengo: .
  11. I must be the only person who thought this board is the only one out there. :tongue_smilie: .
  12. Really? I try to teach my child to take the high road. Why stoop to their rude level? .
  13. I think the word "blind" is what makes this a sticky question. To me, BLIND respect implies a sort of naive or even stupid level of respect. Should a child respect adults? Absolutely. Are there some adults, however, that should not be respected because of things they have done? Absolutely. My children are taught to respect everyone including adults. But BLIND respect? I don't think so.
