  1. For short-term things, I use a dry-erase board on the fridge. I write down everything that needs to be done and then put them in a reasonable order of importance. I loooove to erase each item as I finish it! For long-term things, or huge projects with smaller components, I use a legal note pad, again putting things in order of importance.
  2. Pranks affect real people. I hope no one thinks this was worth the laugh.
  3. Try magnesium citrate. Take it every day. My post-childbirth periods are painless and half as heavy as my pre-child ones because of it. In the meantime, :grouphug: . Try an epsom salt bath for the cramps.
  4. I've lived in NC for about a year, and I'd also vote for Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham. I personally prefer the latter, but I've never actually lived in either area.
  5. Magnesium citrate helped me a lot, taken every singe day. I've also heard good things about cod liver oil capsules (for vitamins A and D).
  6. I think it's a cute look, and I see it on women of all ages, but I'm more of a skirts and dresses sort of gal.
  7. Celiac disease runs in my family, and while I don't have it, I'm mostly GF because it does cause some problems for me (migraines and cystic acne! :svengo: ). I think it's ridiculous to suggest that everyone be GF, but I'm glad there's awareness about it, for people (unlike me - I can usually handle the random slice of bread) who cannot tolerate it at all.
  8. No way. You want to rule out other issues first. Then if you suspect mental health issues, see a mental health specialist, but be in talk therapy at the same time. Anti-depressants, while very useful for some people, are only a quick fix. For long-term healing, you need to mentally work through your issues, develop healthy coping mechanisms and/or change your lifestyle.
  9. I used to have a love/hate thing with the holidays because of family, but now I live 800 miles away and it's a rough drive through the snow and mountains with young kids, so everyone stays home. Holidays are much nicer now. :D

  11. My OBGYN told me about the menstrual thing. I used to have heavy periods and ibuprofin (rather large doses, prescribed by her) really helped lighten them. I prefer to take magnesium in the first place, though.
  12. Pumpkin roll refrigerates really well for the people who can't be home for dinner. And for breakfast the next day :)
  13. I voted kilts...but am I the only one who wants to see Aragorn in a kilt rather than tunic? I feel the kilt/tunic debate can't be settled without carefully examining both arguments.
  14. One set is in the kitchen for the two boy cats. The other set is in our bedroom because girl cat doesn't get along with boy cats and is spoiled. :glare: Rotten. :glare: Little stinker. :glare:
  15. We decorate over Thanksgiving weekend while enjoying leftovers!
  16. If it was an unusual name, I'd want to know. My son would have had the same name as an overnight singing sensation if he'd been a girl, because I kind of live under a rock as far as pop culture goes. That's just not the sort of connotation I want my kid to project to the world, even if it's a lovely name.
  17. A nice classic leather handbag. A warm robe for my morning coffee and reading time. Pearl earrings. My favorite rose perfume. Watching my toddler open his gifts. :001_wub:
  18. I found water incredibly relaxing for my long labor. The bad part was that it was so relaxing that it stalled my labor. Things would have gone so much faster if I had stayed on land, and I gave birth on land anyway, so if I could do that birth over again, knowing how it would go, I wouldn't bother with the water. But you never know ahead of time!
  19. I once pulled two necks out of a turkey! I wanted to faint. The thought of putting one animal's body part inside another animal... (or maybe both necks belonged to different animals!).
  20. My son was like that too. I tend toward AP, but get irritated with the "you must constantly carry them in a sling or you're a bad parent" crowd, because that level of body heat was really bad for him! I did cuddle him a lot, but the extra bit of (lightweight, breathable) fabric of a sling was just too much, especially outdoors in the summer.
  21. My MIL has worked there for years. I don't know all the ins and outs, but I can tell you that everyone at her store is required to work for opening on Black Friday. She has to show up for work at 1 a.m.!:svengo:
