Sometimes dealing with third party sellers on Amazon is crazy town. So frustrating - especially at Christmas! Fortunately, Amazon customer service has always made things right for me. In your shoes, I would just write it off as their loss due to their own lack of organization, and move on from there.

I think you are handling a difficult time with grace and perseverance. So many expectations at this time of year - it can be tough to navigate. I just want to respond to this - relationship and kindness are NEVER meaningless! And big trips are not normal gifts for the vast majority.

Will the sausage be in links or patties? How large is each piece? I'm thinking that dry goods you purchase from Costco could be returned if they're unopened. Do you have a Gordon Food Service? They allow returns for most items if unopened (probably not perishable items). I think 2.5 or maybe 3 eggs per person is good as well. Will this be a mix of kids, teens, adults, older adults? There may be some people who eat 5 eggs, but it seems like most will not. Good luck with the project - I'm excited that you have a great plan for moving forward!

Thanks for praying, everyone! I have just a small update. She is stable, but they are still concerned about the inter cranial pressure (swelling and pressure in the brain). She will be closely monitored through the next 48-72 hours, which is crucial in her healing process. Also, please pray for her friend who was driving and sustained only minor injuries. That is a huge praise, but there is a lot of guilt that she is uninjured and her friend is so badly injured.

We have been very happy with our LG front loader - it's about 9 years old. I don't know if I will go with a front loader or an HE top loader next time, but I will definitely be looking at LG again. One thing I paid attention to when I was shopping for this one was the length of cycle. It seemed like some had really long normal cycles. Mine has 55-60 minutes regular cycles with a 30 minute short cycle. I don't know if that's still an issue - I haven't looked at washing machines since then!

When we are at home, no, unless it is a special occasion or special treat. On vacation, sure! Especially if there is a good place to go. And I probably wouldn't be hungry, but my boys can eat humongous bowls of ice cream at any time of the day or night. :laugh:

It is definitely not a non-issue with all Amish. In this area, people who leave the Amish church or often cut off/shunned. After our neighbor down the road left the Amish church to help start a new, slightly less conservative church, the local Amish would not do business with him or talk to him. Even his extended family. They eventually moved to a different area, mainly due to that issue. This has been within the last 5-6 years, so very current. Some people are able to repair relationships with their Amish family members over time, and I've seen some families not cut off their family members when they leave the church. I think the general practice is changing, but very slowly and unevenly.

I agree with this, or you could also do the first 30 minutes geared to the older level, then let her go do independent work, and continue with the youngers at a lower level.

Tablet Class may fit your criteria. It is inexpensive - I believe $99 for a year, but he may be running a special right now. Teaching is online video, problems can printed off to work on paper, solutions are worked out on video. My oldest son is my math guru; he has used TC for Geometry & Algebra II and wishes he had used it for Algebra (and would have used for Pre-Calc if they had that class). He has been very happy with it. Oldest ds used Foerster with Math without Borders video/solutions for Pre-Calculus. He tried Foerster without video teaching & worked out solutions, but decided he needed the video teaching. He has been happy with MWB and plans to use the MWB/Foerster combo for Calculus. We have also tried Cool Math Guy videos, which is Dana Mosely. DS liked his teaching style, but didn't like trying to coordinate them with the Foerster book (I believe Chalkdust/Cool Math Guy coordinates with a Larson book). I believe the Cool Math Guy videos are about 150/year, which is cheaper then Chalkdust dvd's, but you can't reuse for the next kid.
