  1. Hugs to you!!! We all make parenting mistakes. That is called Life.
  2. It's "at the outset of this..." not "at the onset" And am I the only one who doesn't care for "I'm done." Is it too hard to say "finished"?
  3. Chicken with alfredo sauce and angel hair pasta
  4. Well, with four cups of chopped pears, you can make this delicious bread/cake. http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/fresh-pear-bread
  5. I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my prayers.
  6. I rarely make them at home either. But, now I want to because of this thread. And because, unlike some of you, there are no taco trucks in my area. Which is sad and unfair, because I would totally buy some today.
  7. I love tacos, but for some (strange) reason I don't make them very often. What is a taco truck? I know what a meat truck is, but...
  8. I love NPR, but usually have an audio book on in the car. I just finished reading Hidden Kitchens that I learned about on NPR and now I am reading If Ignorance is Bliss, Why aren't there more happy people? which I learned about there as well.
  9. "Swimming" in the gravel pit. I couldn't swim. Driving a motorcycle. Climbing to the top of pine trees. Bike riding on unsafe roads-helmets were unheard of. Roller coasters Jumping off the garage I still eat too much sugar
  10. After reading all you have shared, I am surprised this mother is even trying to subject your daughter to anymore of her her husband's cruelty. The dynamics of this family are really strange.
  11. When my father had his heart surgery, his only symptoms were shortness of breath and jaw pain. No tightness, arm pain, or nausea. He failed the stress test and catherization showed major blockages in four arteries. Doctor wouldn't even allow him to leave the hospital, but scheduled surgery for the next morning.
  12. I am finding that most skirts I buy are too long for my tastes. I have been shortening them over the summer. I like them long, but not to my ankles. I like some of the styles at serengeti.com. If you have a Christopher and Banks close by, they usually have a good selection.
  13. Agreeing with those who suggested a cardiologist and a complete workup. How scary for you.
  14. You mentioned there are other districts in your area. Might one of them be a smaller, better fit for your daughter? What are your daughter's feelings about the choices?
  15. I just have to say, that sounds like an amazing line up of meals for camping.
  16. My dad plays Solitaire. I like Sudoku and Solitaire, but not crosswords as much. I download the Solitaire app on my phone, but uninstall it regularly. If I leave it on there, I am like an addict.
  17. I have been a big reader for many years. Neither of my parents are and my sister is not. Not long ago, I mentioned Anne of Green Gables and she didn't have a clue who I was talking about. Dh is a big reader, ds reads some.
  18. I don't think you should feel guilty at all. He shouldn't have made you feel bad. Shame on him for showing disappointment that a woman alone didn't stop to help him.
  19. You know, I would be just a little annoyed that he made me feel guilty. A guy should not show disappointment that a woman alone does not stop to help him.
  20. Just used one at Dollar General for $5 off $25 purchase and got another one for next week. Yay!! It will come in handy for college supplies for ds.
  21. I sell on Amazon, but only if they will sell for above $3 or $4. It is just not worth the shipping, packaging, time, and effort for cheaper books.
