Don't be fooled by the list of "available states." Just type "_______ state history lapbook" into the Currclick search box and it will pull it up. Ok, I will begin with saying that I have always struggled with writing, and always second guess whatever I choose to teach writing to my kids. We have used some of this and some of that for the last several years and landed with WWE/WWS this last year and a half. I need someone to either encourage me to stick with it and know that my kids will come out ok, or help me see what is lacking. Here is what we have done this last year: dd16 (natural writer, little structural instruction, will be 11th grade) used WWS and a few MFW WHL writing assignments dd14 (very reluctant writer, little structural instruction, will be 10th grade) used WWS (finishing up over the summer/fall) and a few MFW AHL assignments ds12 (very reluctant writer, little structural instruction, will be 7th grade) used WWE4 dd9 (no writing instuction other than WWE, will be 4th grade) used WWE2 dd5 (learning to read...writing letters & short words as learned, loves to write anything is she can get someone to sit and spell it for her while she writes...will be K/1st grade) looking to start her out right So, my concern is that dd9 (and really ds12) don't do much writing other than WWE (looking to move ds12 into WWS this next year, maybe). So, is this enough? 'Cause in the back of my mind, I keep thinking that they should be doing more (paragraphs, stories, outlines etc.). I have had this same battle over and over again in my head, and just cannot decide whether to just stick with WWE or add something to it...and if I need to add to it, then what?:confused: I would really appreciate any thoughts or advice you can offer. I'm really feeling lost when it comes to writing and I don't want to let my dc down.

Yep, you need both. The instructions are in the Teacher's book, so without it I don't think you'd be able to do much with the workbook.

Yes, congratulations (definately hypothetically :D). That's a hard place to be. I'm thinking it would be better to get to the dress shop and explain the possibility and figure out what options you have.

Wow, that seems so far off for me. I've been homeschooling for 7 years now, and have at least 18 to go (baby due in December, so we're starting all over again). What would I like to do when I am finished? Well, I would like to do all of the things I don't have time to do now. Flower gardening! I have always wanted to have a nice flower garden, but lack of time & animals that like to eat my flowers/dig them up have prevented that. Volunteering (I would love to work in a soup kitchen or something), mission trips, maybe a little bit of traveling (gotta see the grandkids, ya know. I'm sure by then we'll have some :D), maybe I'll get my scrapbooking finished...and the list goes on and on.

:iagree:My thoughts exactly. Our babies (one at a time, of course) were always at the table with us whether in a swing, on a lap or in a highchair unless they happened to be sleeping at meal time. They were also early eaters...they started "eyeing" our plates early on and usually by 6 or 7 months they were nibbling on soft finger foods.

Congratulations! I have heard that one of the early symptoms of pregnancy is cramping & achiness. I hope all goes well! #7 should be fun (I am also expecting out #7 in December).

Congratulations! How exciting!! I can totally understand how you feel about the comments you will probably get. We are expecting baby #7 to join us the end of December. I am sooooo tired of "Have you figured out what causes that?" If I'm really irritated, I will answer "No, do you know? I'm dying to know what it is!!" It's really hysterical the responses I get from some people whe think they are being "funny!" Not sure really how to politely stop those comments, other than becoming a hermit, but that doesn't work either. I wish you a wonderful, happy, healthy pregnancy and may those "funny" people learn some better manners!

We had spaghetti, green beans and cheesy garlic toast. It was good, not sure what else I wish we were eating...maybe something that cooks/cleans up after itself :D I am definately going to make crock pot chicken fajitas tomorrow! YUM!!!

What an awesome blessing you are giving! I think anything & everything you can give will be greatly appreciated! Dinners are probably the best meal to not have to cook for a new mom, but breakfasts & lunches are also great (especially for a tired mommy that needs to sleep in occasionally. Here are some of our favorite freezer meals: Spaghetti casserole: cook noodles & ground beef, mix together with sauce and put in a casserole dish topped with mozzerella cheese. This freezes very well and is easy to just pull out and heat up. Italian casserole: Cook a box of pasta (spiral or penne are our favorite) and 1lb of mild italian sausage. Mix pasta, cooked sausage, 1 large container of cottage cheese and 2 jars of spaghetti sauce together, put in casserole dish and top with mozzerella cheese. This also freezes very well and is easy to heat and eat. **If you want to send complete meals, add a couple cans of green beans and a box of frozen garlic toast to the above casseroles. Breakfast burritos: cook meat, scramble eggs, & fry potatoes. Mix together, spoon into tortillas, top with cheese, roll up and freeze. This is a great quick & easy breakfast! Chili & cornbread freeze well...or send a bag of fritos & shredded cheese instead of cornbread for chili frito pies. A nice salad would round out the meal.

Yep...this next year I will have, 11th grade, 10th grade, 7th grade, 4th grade, K/1st grade (she has a late fall b'day so we slowly started some kindergarten things this year, but will finish up and move right into 1st grade as she is ready), a 2 yo running around and a baby due at the end of the year!

Don't let the fact that you don't have any baby things stop you. I had just given away the last of our baby stuff the week before we found out baby #7 was on the way. So, now here we go again...completely starting from scratch!LOL!! I do have to say, dh & I thought that we were finished after dc#4, however, God obviously thought differently. Several times both of us started thinking about another baby, and guess what...that feeling never went away until the next dc was born. We were pretty sure that we were finished after our last (dc#6), even to the point of talking to the dr. about making it permanent. However, we opted not to at the last minute. After bringing dc#6 home from the hospital, we started counting heads to make sure everyone was accounted for because we all (older kids included) had this wierd feeling that someone was missing. We joked about it and ignored it for a long time...but the "missing child" is due to join us in December. I have to say, I don't know how I would have felt had we prevented this little one from becoming a part of our family. Anyway, all this to say...if you have a longing or even are thinking about more children there may be a reason for those thoughts. God speaks in mysterious ways!!
